Can't hurt to post it again, even if the "sanctity" of life no longer applies until the conceived life is actually implanted in a Mother or the artificial womb of a Purchaser.

Some "artificials" being more equal than others.

Either life is always and in all circumstances sacred,
or intrinsically of no account;
it is inconceivable
that it should be in some cases the one,
and in some the other."

The "no" to life,
which the use of contraceptives cries out
by its very name

Q:           Once fertilization, once conception has occurred, could you tell the Court, anything added after the point? Does Peter or Margaret come into being, so to speak, through additional information?

A:           Well, that was a very interesting discovery of modem science. Because for a long time it has been believed that the mother, the feeling of the mother, could do something to the baby. . . . [but] we know now that everything is written inside the first cell.

I have to come back to this concept of conception, because it is a very remarkable fact that in all the languages coming from Latin, we use the same word either to express an idea which comes into our mind, or to a new being coming into life.

We conceive an idea. We conceive a baby. A baby is conceived. Conception applies just as well for defining what will animate matter in a human nature or what will animate your mind within your idea.

And that is, so to speak, an extraordinary description of reality which is at the very beginning the information and the matter, so to speak:

the spirit and the body are so intimately interwoven that we use the same word to say spirit animated by your ideas, or life of a new human being animated by genetic property-conception.

As a nation, we must choose between the sanctity of life ethic and the "quality of life" ethic.

You mean we can't have both?

On National Sanctity of Human Life Day, we reaffirm the value of human life and renew our dedication to ensuring that every American has access to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

As we seek to improve quality of life, overcome illness, and promote vital medical research, my Administration will continue to honor our country's founding ideals of equal dignity and equal rights for every American

... every American "Born Alive", anyway.

Speaking of "vital" government interests in our welfare:

"Abortion is VITAL to the solution" ... a Key Point from Kissinger's NSSM-200

Further refining our nation's policy options as promulgated in light of the Environmental and Population Crises forseen by the GOP Task Force who gave the Democrats their talking points into the next millennium:

Recommendations of the Task Force on Earth Resources and Population

As a result of reduced death rates, there are more people in their non-productive years than ever before. More children and more elderly people unable to participate in the world's work force increase the burden on the productive age group. [...] The National Academy of Sciences has said:

Either the birth rate must go back down or the death rate must go back up.

Thanks again for your excellent research over the years.

It is certainly no accident that the forces which promote abortion are the same as those spreading contraception. In fact, the connection between the two phenomena, at first above all psychological and sociological, is always effected and made concrete through so-called contraceptives that also have an abortifacient effect.

This mentality also strikes at a woman's dignity, often entailing her being used as an instrument, conditioning her to live in situations which are not fully in accord with her will and which contradict her deep yearning for motherhood (cf. Mulieris Dignitatem, n. 18).

To overcome the culture of death a change of mentality is necessary and urgent. We need to rediscover the deep meaning and value of each human being and to teach respect for his or her right to life, from conception until natural death -- that is, to find once more the significance of each human person.

Congressional Record, September 5, 1969

HEARING HIGHLIGHTS
HON. GEORGE XXXX
OF TEXAS
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Thursday, September 4, 1969

Mr. XXXX. Mr. Speaker, the weeks before recess our Republican Task Force on Earth Resources and Population held three hearings.

The subjects discussed at these hearings were: the hereditary aspects of human quality, that activities of the Earth Resources Survey Program Review Committee, and the environmental problems created by our rapid rate of population growth.

So that all Members of the House can share the information we heard, I offer our hearing highlights for the RECORD:

HEARING HIGHLIGHTS, TUESDAY, AUGUST 5, 1969

Dr. Williams Shockley, Professor, Stanford University.
Dr. Arthur Jensen, Professor, University of California at Berkeley.

Dr. Shockley stated that he feels the National Academy of Sciences has an intellectual obligation to make a clear and relevant presentation of the facts about hereditary aspects of human quality.

Furthermore, he claimed our well-intentioned social welfare programs may be unwittingly producing a down breeding of the quality of the U.S. population.

Specifically, Dr. Shockley feels the National Academy of Sciences should answer the following question: "Is or is not your 1967 statement on Human Genetics and Urban Slums now clearly out of date and unsound as a result of the analysis published in the Winter, 1969 issue of the Harvard Educational Review by Dr. Jensen and its subsequent review by Dr. Crow?"

Dr. Shockley believes that such a question is partially justified on the basis that one of 3 authors of that 1967 statement, Dr. James Crow, now seems to feel that the statements fails to adequately consider new theories of genetic quality.

On the basis of studies completed by Dr. Arthur Jensen, Dr. Shockley claimed:

"I believe that the voting citizens of the United States can and should endeavor to make their government seek objectivity to formulate programs so that every baby born has high probability of leading a dignified, rewarding and satisfying life. Letters from government organizations show that hereditary factors are essentially excluded from present studies of our social problems.

That single cell which hold the entire genetic package of each newly conceived human life ...

It's not just the most Profitable window of Human Non-Personhood, it's been the most Critical of all for quite some time.

You know, Uncle Bill ... it's funny how closely aligned the likes of Hillary Clinton and the GOP Task Force on Earth Resources and Population were back in 1969:

We're not interested in social reconstruction;
it's human reconstruction.

-- Hillary D. Rodham (1969 Wellesley Commencement Speech)

Looks to me like they'd both pinpointed their problem at the Single Cell -- where the solving of Society's Ills was concerned.

BTW, I could use some help. I'm still looking far and wide for some moment of metanoia on the part of key GOP where all this talk of population control and the Environment is concerned.

All I can find are dramatic disavowals of abortion about the same time the liberals who opposed abortion (on the basis of sucking up to their black constituents who understood it and free birth control as the targeted genocide it was) suddently about-faced and made abortion their "rallying cry".

Oh dear ... I should probably shouldn't life "made abortion their rallying cry" without crediting my source on that.

It's just that they end up Witnesses ... on a Whittake Chambers scale as a rule.

BUSH - Population Control Leader
"In rapid succession, Bush introduced legislation to create a National Center for Population and Family Planning and Welfare, and to redesignate the Department of the Interior as the Department of Resources, Environment and Population."

BUSH - Population Task Force
"Among Bush's most important contributions to the neo-Malthusian cause while in Congress was his role in the Republican Task Force on Earth Resources and Population. The task force, which Bush helped found and then chaired, churned out a steady stream of propaganda claiming that the world was already seriously overpopulated; that there was a fixed limit to natural resources and that this limit was rapidly being reached; and that the environment and natural species were being sacrificed to human progress. Bush's task force sought to accredit the idea that the human race was being "down bred," or reduced in genetic qualities by the population growth among blacks and other non-white and hence allegedly inferior races at a time when the Anglo-Saxons were hardly able to prevent their numbers from shrinking.

Comprised of over 20 Republican Congressmen, Bush's Task Force was a kind of Malthusian vanguard organization which heard testimony from assorted "race scientists," sponsored legislation and otherwise propagandized the zero-growth outlook. In its 50-odd hearings during these years, the task force provided a public forum to nearly every well-known zero-growth fanatic, from Paul Ehrlich, founder of Zero Population Growth (ZPG), to race scientist William Shockley, to the key zero-growth advocates infesting the federal bureaucracy."
