Yep, yep, and yep.
I was raised in Jackson Mississippi from a long line and all my kinfolks are still down there. I suggest all Northern do-gooders spend a year down there doing outreach work and get back to me.
Lived all over the world since but Nashville has been home since late 96. I love it here....best big town in the South ...no doubt.

"I'm not interested in being hip, if hip means abandoning the limited-government principles that are supposed to be the bedrock of the Republican Party. Im more concerned about salvaging a few scraps of Christian civilization than being an acceptable guest at cool parties. If defending the truth means a temporary setback in ones long-term political strategy, so be it." If more Republicans actually believed in smaller government, then I just might have stayed in the party.

try flying the 3d National, as it is the OFFICIAL flag of loyal southrons, until the CSA Congress meets again to change it.

Well said my brother. Having ancestors who came from Missouri, I can say that I am personally ashamed of Dick Gephart. He has forsaken his American inheritance in favor of the Socialist Democrat legacy.
I have a 1st National license plate on the front of my truck and a bumper sticker on the back bumper that shows the Confederate Battle flag with the words "KEEP IT FLYING". I just need to get a flag pole to put up in my front yard so I can fly my 1st National, or my Stainless Banner, or my large 5x8' Battle Flag. I will also put up my Gadsden Flag with them. Having spent lots of time in the South, I would have to say my favorite state is Mississippi. The blacks treat you with respect, and I treated them with respect also.
Screw the damn Yankee States & Dicky Gephart TOO!

Lived all over the world since but Nashville has been home since late 96. I love it here....best big town in the South ...no doubt.I live north of you in Sumner County. I lived in Nashville (Antioch area) for 5 years, back in the late eighties and early nineties. Nashville is pretty nice for a large city and definitely better than most, by far. My biggest complaint is that no one in Tennessee knows how to make cornbread. Everytime I order it they bring me these little flapjack things...

...milk & sugar on grits...I have to look away when they do that, it's sinful. The good thing about eating breakfast with a yankee is that if the meals come with a bowl of grits, they usually don't want theirs and I get to have twice as much.

interestingly, the flag MOST FLOWN by the KKK-scum is the US FLAG!When the klan was at it's zenith, one of their slogans was "One Flag!, One Country!", and usually something else included for a third, such as: Allegiance, Language, School, Bible, etc. The Flag part was always included. And the flag they were talking about was NOT the Confederate one. It was the Stars and Stripes.

I like white meal soda/buttermilk cornbread (not sweet)from a cast iron skillet...not these johnny cakes.
Nashville has indeed escaped the deterioration and crime waves that many southern cities have in their more urban areas. It's impolite to draw any correlations.
Nice snow today.
I'm in Forest Hills but my office is in Old Hickory. I almost went to the office but am glad I didn't....the roads are clutered with 2 wheeler soccer moms stranded.
I like Sumner county....once they finish all that I-65 construction and 4 lane 109...you guys are going to get overrun like Williamson or Rutherford....I'm sorry.

YEP! it was.
the LAST TIME the KKK marched on DC, there was NOT a SINGLE CSA flag, but a LEGION of US flags in the parade of dumb-bunnies.

My biggest complaint is that no one in Tennessee knows how to make cornbread. Everytime I order it they bring me these little flapjack things... Here in East Tennessee, cornbread rises to a bump in the middle, 2 - 3 inches thick, and grainy with corn meal. Mmmmmmm ... pass the field peas and greens, please.

Nice snow today.Ain't it something? It stuck to the roads immediately, and came down heavy and fast. I was in it this morning, and I wasn't sure I'd get home the roads were so bad. They were as slick as if it was an ice storm. 5 MPH was the average speed on Gallatin Road, at best.

It's already happening. Soon the roads will be playing catch-up. Years back, I moved to Hendersonville to escape increasing development et al, and now it has caught me again. I was looking at places up in Portland last year, but the recent 'economic unpleasantness' changed my plans for me. Hopefully soon that will change and I can resume my retreat to the more wild parts. It would be nice to sit on the porch and have to decide which to shoot, the turkey or the deer, that is nibbling in my garden. I have a friend that lives in Portland and I spent a lot of time up there last year rebuilding a car. Deer and turkeys are constantly in his yard (most of his property is woods, of course). I used to take great sport in sneaking up on the turkeys and then jumping at them making horrible noises. They would all take to the sky at once gobbling their startled heads off. It has to be seen (and heard) to be appreciated. I keep hearing turkey hunters say how hard it is to get close to them, but they must hunting the wrong turkeys. I could snatch feathers every time, and usually at least one would fly into me. They're funny, and they taste good.
