I agree. The writer is a liberal and it comes through with 'tax breaks for the rich' tripe, but overall...... especially since the writer IS a liberal....... it's a very positive article.

The political hacks and pundits in Washington are continually mis-underestimating this man, and frankly, it is a joy to watchIsn't it fun to have been right about the President from the beginning, and NOT be surprised by what a great job he's doing!
However, I've got to say, that even I have been amazed by his political savvy and cleverness in confounding his foes! The next 6 years are going to be an even greater joy to watch!

It's not meant to be flattering, baseball mom, and it contains some liberal jabs, but when you consider that this is coming from the left, it's pretty remarkable.
The writer respects the President, and rightfully so, even though he still doesn't quite 'get it.'

I think we would have seen something earlier, but he had just been in office a few months when one of the biggest tragedies of this country occurred.

It was a joke.

Which freedoms did he remove? Did I miss something? I am still able to do most anything I want and did not notice any freedoms going down the tube.

That Bush didn't, that Bush deliberately kept the country on a peacetime footing--in a situation wherein someone else might have declared martial law, suspended the Constitution, closed the borders, and who knows what--shows us that Bush is not an opportunist; rather, he is careful to avoid disrupting our system. Above all, he is not seeking more and more power for the Presidency. This is an excellent point!
He has proven as much about himself by what he has NOT done, as by what he HAS done.

Let's make this point clear, Karsus. It is YOU who have not seen anything in the past 24 months, not WE. Speak for yourself.
Take your ideological blinders off, and you will see much more clearly what is being done by THIS President for YOUR benefit.

Please learn to read. I said we have not seen anything MAJOR in regards to tax reform. We have not. What we have seen are changes to the current tax system. Where are the MAJOR changes?

Please tell me which of the following are incorrect.
1: Bush signed the USA PATRIOT act into law.
2: Bush has done next to nothing to protect our borders.
3: The GWB DOD is spending 250-500 Million to enhance the border security of Pakistan/Afghanistan by building monitoring posts.
4: The USA PATRIOT act increases what the goverment can do to monitor US Citizens.
5: Programs like TIPS/TIA have been proposed and in some cases funded.

Please learn to be polite. It is IN
YOUR OPINION that nothing major has been done in regard to Tax reform. I have heard many economists who completely disagree with your assessment that there is nothing major in this tax proposal..
Why don't you try being honest with yourself? This President will NEVER do enough for you, regardless of what he does.
You are unappeaseable, and you are wrong.
To: Karsus; mel
Obey the law, Karsus, and the Patriot Act won't take away ANY of your 'freedoms.'
Some US citizens are terrorists who want to kill us. Most Americans prefer that they not have the freedom to do that.
You still have not named ONE freedom that YOU have lost.......perhaps because you haven't LOST any. You are just reinforcing the fact that you are an unappeaseable malcontent who doesn't happen to 'like' this President.
