Detectives at the Rumuolumeni Divisional Police Station in Port Harcourt, Rivers State are investigating a case involving three persons who allegedly transformed to cats.
One of the suspects is a twelve-year-old boy simply identified as John who had transformed to a cat and was caught by policemen at the Rumuolumeni Division.
DailyPost reporter who visited the scene of the incident reports that the policemen became curious after noticing that a particular cat was always running across the police station and decided to lay ambush for the animal.
It was further gathered that after the animal was caught and the policemen attempted to kill it, it mysteriously transformed to a boy.
The twelve year old boy later confessed that he was initiated by one aged man named Womadi, adding that there are many of his kind in Port Harcourt, and their mission was to suck human blood and inflict their victims with diseases.
The paramount ruler of Rumuolumeni in Oibio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Eze Ndubueze Wobo confirmed the transformation of three members of his community into cats.
Eze Wobo told Dailypost that one of the men, who is popularly called PAPA, confessed to him at the police station that he initiated the people to suck human blood and inflict their victims with diseases.
Wobo said the victim listed some items which would be used to cleanse initiated children, some which include native alligator pepper, Local gin, Local kola nut and so on.
Some of the residents of the community, including the security operatives who captured the cat before it changed into a human being said that the man confessed that he used packaged beef roll and other things to initiate the victims, who are mainly schoolchildren.
Chinotimba witchcraft plot: pair in court

THE long-standing power struggles in Zanu PF assumed an awful trajectory on Tuesday when two party officials appeared in court accused of plotting to “assassinate” rival party contenders using WITCHCRAFT.
Among the alleged targets was politburo member Kumbirai Kangai and war veterans leader Joseph Chinotimba.
The suspects, Zvenyika Machokoto and Judith Muodzeri, believed to be husband and wife aspiring for higher political office, appeared before a Mutare magistrate and charged with “conspiracy to engage in practices of witchcraft” under the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act.
They were remanded to February 16 on US$50 bail each.
The court heard that sometime last week, the two allegedly consulted a self-styled prophet, Jimmy Motsi, in Bindura district and asked him to concoct witchcraft-induced methods to kill their Zanu PF rivals whom they accused of thwarting their rise through the party’s ranks.
On the couple’s hit list were Kangai, Chinotimba, Buhera North Member of Parliament William Mutomba, Tapiwa Zengeya, Kenneth Madziturira and Saul Tsuma - all senior Zanu PF members in Buhera district.
If the “assassination” plot succeeded, the court heard, the two would stand a better chance of campaigning to represent Zanu PF in the parliamentary and senate elections widely expected this year. In turn, they promised to pay the prophet handsomely.
Reports of Zanu PF officials seeking help from traditional or spiritual leaders is nothing new. Their gullibility was exposed in 2008 when they were duped by a female school drop-out posing as a n’anga to believe she could extract refined petroleum from rocks.
Gordon Chavunduka, the president of the 50,000-member Zimbabwe National Traditional Healers’ Association (ZINATHA), blamed the Bindura incident on lack of internal democracy within Zanu PF.
Chavunduka told the Voice of America's Studio 7 on Tuesday that the lack of succession debate in Zanu PF was encouraging witchcraft within the party.
“I agree yes, any situation like that would create witchcraft to those who believe in it,” he said.
Under Zimbabwean law, witchcraft is a criminal offense punishable by a fine or a five-year jail term.
White people must be bewitched and there is a local panacea for the ailing rand.
This was the talk on Friday at the Greater KwaDukuza ANC march on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast in defence of President Jacob Zuma.
“We do not care about the sick rand. It will recover. There’s a cure for it. The cure for the rand is the boy from Siqumbe [Malusi Gigaba]‚” said Greater KwaDukuza ANC Youth League chair Mfanafuthi Ngcobo when he addressed about 400 ANC marchers outside the Ballito Junction mall.
New Finance Minister Gigaba is from the same region‚ in Siqumbe‚ Mandeni.
Regional ANC secretary Thabani Mdlalose called for the en masse bewitching of white people.
“Let’s stop bewitching each other as black people‚ let’s start bewitching white people and change things so that more of our people can be employed."
Mdlalose said it was unfortunate that the people who are calling for Zuma’s head are not the ones that elected him in Mangaung in December 2012.
Although the march was relatively peaceful‚ it was the quick thinking of Ilembe cluster commander Major General Mandlenkosi Chirwa who averted a potential confrontational in Ballito between Democratic Alliance and ANC supporters.
Chirwa had ensured that the marches do not clash by starting the DA-led march in Ballito at 9am‚ while the ANC was gathering at Shaka’s Head 5km away. By the time the ANC arrived in Ballito at 12pm‚ the DA had gone.
Chirwa‚ who received the ANC’s memorandum of grievances‚ thanked them for their behaviour and conduct.
“I hope all your issues will be received and answered in line with the constitution of the republic‚” he said amid heckling.
Earlier on‚ the crowd had threatened to loot a local KFC outlet prompting police to barricade the area with vehicles.
A five-year-old albino girl has been snatched and beheaded after a ritual murder for her body parts, which are deemed magical in Mali.
Armed men abducted Djeneba Diarra from her family's home in Fana village, 78 miles north of Mali's capital, Bamako, as the child.
Police said she was sleeping in the courtyard with her mother and her sister when kidnappers struck.
The girl's mother at first tried to pursue the kidnappers, who scaled a wall with her child, but then turned back to protect her second daughter, also an albino.
'We searched for the little girl everywhere. We found her body beside a mosque, but she had no head,' said a village teacher, Oumar Diakite.
Blaming a lack of security for the killing, angry local residents on Sunday partially burned down the paramilitary police headquarters in Fana, according to several witnesses.
'We demand justice. Her head was taken. This is a ritual crime,' activist Mamadou Sissoko told AFP after going to the scene.
Sissoko, the general secretary of the Federation of Associations of Persons with Albinism in West Africa (FAPAO), pointed out the link between crimes against albinos and political events, ahead of Mali's presidential election on July 29.
'Every time there are elections, we become prey for people who want to make ritual sacrifices. This is not the first time this has happened in Fana,' he said. 'The state needs to take up its responsibilities.'
An albino legend on the international stage, Malian musician Salif Keita has for years campaigned for the protection of albinos, who are both stigmatised and hunted for ritual purposes in many African countries, including Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania and Zimbabwe as well as in West Africa.
Dozens of albinos are attacked and killed every year by people prepared to hack off their limbs to use in rituals aimed at bringing wealth, success and good fortune.
Albinism is a genetic hereditary disorder that causes a partial or total absence of pigmentation in the skin, the hair and the eyes, so that sufferers have a bleached look.
Apart from discrimination, albinos are also exposed to problems of eyesight and a heightened risk of skin cancer. In Africa, protective suntan creams are hard to find and expensive.

A 76- year- old man of Poya village in Shiwang’andu district
has been assaulted by his wife and biological children
on allegations that he was practicing witchcraft.
Muchinga Province Deputy Police Commissioner, Lucky
Munkondya, has confirmed the incident in an interview with
Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Shiwang’andu today.
Ms. Munkondya has identified the victim as Bernard Malama
76, of Poya village in chief Nkula’s chiefdom in
Shiwang’andu and said the incident occurred on 15th March 2022.
She said Malama was beaten by his biological children and
his wife of the same residence following allegations of him
practicing witchcraft.
Ms. Munkondya said sticks are alleged to have been used to
assault the victim who sustained painful arms, painful legs,
a cut on the lower lip, headache, a cut on left cheek, and general body pains.
She said brief facts are that for a long time, the children
have been suspecting their father to have been the one
behind various ailments they were suffering from.
Ms. Munkondya explained that on the material day, the
children and their mother confronted Malama and took the law
into their hands by beating him.
She said four suspects, including Malama’s wife, have since
been arrested and they will appear in court soon.
