It's been my experience that human tissue is way to soft to make an effective shield. Even if they skinned Mr. Weber and made a sheild out of his tanned hide it would do little to stop modern weapons.

I would hope a lot more "peace activists" take up this cause and head to Iraq to become human shields. There would then be much fewer "peaceniks" to listen to with their wasted drivel..

Irony is certainly ironic

Go to Iraq as a human. Return as cargo.
How appropriate.

The Peacemaker group is to return to Canada tomorrow. Am I reading this correctly? This self-sacrificing willingness to put their bodies on the line for 'peace' was only during the holiday season, when the chances of war were nil, and they aren't going to be there for the actual war?

4th Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, Part 3, Article 1, Section 28:
"The presence of a protected person (aka civilian noncombatant) may not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations."

Canadian officials are working to expedite the return of the body.A pity. I'm sure Baghdad would have had a parade in his honor. He'd have liked that.
I believe that during the Gulf War motor vehicle accidents were the leading cause of death of coalition forces.

When I first read the headline I assumed he was the driver. I've seen Canadian drivers.

He gets the Brodrick Crawford Award for irony.
