I am still hopeful that one day we will have a "Loser Pays" Law which will at least give these trial hyenas some pause before helping themselves at the public troughs.

How about 'loser's lawyer pays'? That might make an even bigger dent in the lottery.

If we are to put a cap on awards for the benefit of the doctors, then they must also do something for the consumer, namely demand the government take off the restrictions for schooling of new doctors. We have no competition for medical service because the number of medical students has not been increased since 1993, even tho our population has increased by many millions.

The doctors are very quiet on this issue, they want everything going their way and that cannot be done. They want protection, fine, then I want them to be vocal in demanding more doctors be trained. They will not.

You are probably closer to the answer than I. But any method of stopping these latter day Mongols from fattening their coffers at our expense will suit me just fine.
