The law, of course, doesn't go into effect until some Maryland Mogul certifies the technology to be reliable and "safe".
Buy the way, how long do you suppose the batteries will last?

are policemen, sherriffs deputies, law enforcement, and other agents of the "Almighty State" exempted? Law enforcement are exempt. They are free to shoot whomever they feel a need to without regard for trigger locks.
It never would have passed without police support. The surest way to repeal this bs law right now is to force police to lead the way to safety by carrying these stupid contraptions.
A study comparing gun related "accidents" in the law enforcement community vs. the general population might make interesting reading for democrats thinking the police are more safety conscious than the public.

Read the first sentence of the article - I think you're referring to New Jerseys' "smart gun" legislation. Unless I missed something this baby is in effect right now.
Guns manufactured prior to Jan 1 2003 are exempt, but once dealers run out of inventory at some point in the future, the only choice MD gun buyers have (in MD) will be used guns or new, compliant guns.

That's it. Make it such a PITA to own a gun that most people give up.

This is truly disgusting. Just goes to prove...be CAREFUL who you vote for. Once they're in, they've got you by the "short hairs."

Nice rant. My friend starts and turns off his car with a screwdriver, if that's any consolation to you.

The new Springfields have the Integral Locking system in the mainspring housing with the keyhole being in the backstrap.
