Trent Lott has proven not only that he is at the very least, fatally incompetent.

He has now proven to evryone with an ounce of sense that he has no problem jettisoning any conservative ideals (i.e. "I love affirmative action, across the board) and will screw Republicans over; anything to keep his perks and power.

If the Republican Party is not wise enough to see this man for the self-centered backstabber and powergrabber that he is, and keeps him as The Face Of The Republican Senate, we don't deserve to be the majority party.

When I saw the title of this article on Newsmax, I thought it was about the Jew comment. I had not heard about this Willie Brown incident.

Republicans require one to work to upgrade one's lot.

Democrats offer minorities free lunches (financed through Robin Hood politics).

If Trent Lott hadn't been the one they put the spotlight on, somebody else would've been selected as the GOP scapegoat. Free lunches tend to motivate such ruthlessness.

You are absolutely right. How can these republican senators even consider keeping trent lott as their leader -- unless they are as vacant, stupid and self-absorbed as Lott is. I am assuming they are going to drop him as leader. But what if they don't, it is hard to consider how they coul be that incredibly stupid!--- that will take the starch out of a lot of people who would otherwise support the GOP.
