Guess what? I don't think that they really care. They know race-baiting when they see it. People are a lot less PC than you in reality.

I see later down in your post that you are one of those still pi$$ed about impeachment. Figures.

Read up, people. No need in pointing out anything specific. Just read this thread.

Now tell me, mhking, mafree, swheats, T Lady, & Trueblackman, what's the point of us remaining around here?

I desire a sincere answer from you all, if I may. Straight up.

That is why he picked today to do it. No one cares about Al, just that the republicans are all racist! That is the story. Sad huh!

If this happens will the GOP gain more votes in the black community? Of course not.

That isn't the problem. The problem is if the Democrats gain more votes from teh black community through higher voter turn-out. The support for Democrats and Republicans is so close to 50/50 that voter turn-out is very important. Simply look at the recent LA run-off election for evidence of what high black voter turn-out (turned against the GOP) can mean for Republicans.

I have noticed that a lot of the posters calling for Lott's head hate the GOP and don't care if we hold on to the majority at all.

I don't care about the GOP or whether it holds 'the majority' or not. But what the GOP is doing to Lott (supposedly one of their own) is more disgusting and more pathetic than I thought possible. If I was Lott I would stop this 'apologizing circus', cancel the BET (a segregated, openly racist media outlet) apparition and let the RNC know that Lott's public lynching would be automatically followed by Lott's publicly leaving the 'stupid' party.

President Bush who strongly rebuked Senator Lott remarks but he also clearly stated that Lott should remain as the Senate majority leader.

Please post the quote where Bush says Lott should remain as Senate Majority Leader. I don't believe he said that, much as "clearly" as you put it.

The republicans won big in the last election. A historic win. They control the White house, The Senate and the House. Now sit back and watch them snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory!

Meanwhile, back at the DNC the rats are laughing their a**es off at the 'stupid party'!

President Bush did not "clearly state" that Lott should not remain as majority leader.

Prez. Bush can't tell the Legislative Branch how to organize itself. He's Executive - a different branch, that is. Unless we're under Martial Law.

I'm ashamed of them and would understand if you bolted. It would be a shame to lose you all, but undersandable. I'd be gone after.

The question is why does Trent Lott need to step down as the Senate Majority leader? If this happens will the GOP gain more votes in the black community? Of course not. We need to remember that the black people in America has been voting overwhelmingly for the Democrats for a very long time

------------------------------------

At least a partial lucid voices here for the first time concerning the issue.

As to the initial question, the answer is because people have been conditioned to panic into hysterial at accusations of racism.

In 90% of the black community people such as Jesse Jackson and Kweisi Mfume are considered the voices of moderation. In order to obtain any further Black support Republicans will need to become Bill Clintons and Ted Kennedys. That's a fact of life. If that is done, the Democrats will just move farther to the political and countercultural left to counter it and Republicans will still lose. Moreover, that move by the Republicans will alienate increasing proportions of sane people in America, which is what they have been doing and why voter turnouts are so low. The mainstream of America has been left with nobody to appeal to them.

They're hopeless and pathetic.

Say what? This ain't about race or racism, it's about power.

Let's say a Supreme Court justice has a fatal heart attack next week or month....then what?

How can he explain that he isn't a racist when the evidence indicates that he's been one his entire life?

I sincerely hope that you will stay. What you have to say is important.

To me, this is a deperate dem power grab and has nothing to do with Lott's actual comments or racism. It is the sheep's clothing that AL, Jesse, and Maxine wear to start the racial blackmail.
