1. I'm not and I'm not judging the Lott in the context of the Lefties.

I just proved that incorrect, why are you ignoring it?

2. Yes, without reading the RAT press it is still predictable. I'm saying that if even a conservative can't honestly conclude that what he said in context of the sum of his recent and ancient past, then what does it matter if the lefties are howling about it.

Clue me in on what that means.

3. If the Lott hadn't said it last week and if he didn't have a past that corroborates the worst you could take from his remarks, then it wouldn't be an issue. You are "judging Lott in context to the Lefties" yet you refuse to address Levin's actions.

4. That's what Joe Blow is going to see, over and over and over again.

See 3.

5. And, for the record, the first post you put up was my illumination of a typo. Segregation. There, I got it right.

LOL! You have a goldmine of examples, if replacements are needed it's no problem.

No, it isn't too much to ask that we have leaders we can be proud of. Thankfully, we have a leader in President Bush and his administration that I am proud of. Lott is another matter altogether, however. I'm not proud of him and haven't ever been. Shame isn't it?

It is. I'm tired of 'leaders' who worry more about what the RATS think than what we Republicans think.

One of these days we're going to get somebody who can think like a majority party Leader instead of like a scared minority party leader.

Can't be soon enough for me.

No, you don't get it.

It's not what the RATS or anyone else is saying now that bothers me. The Vacant Lott hung himself, and I'm glad he did it, personally. I'm glad he did it *now*, rather than at another time, too.

What does bother me is what the practical effect of having el duncehead leading us in this prostrate position, all of his own doing, considering how the sheeple will be worked over with it and how they will react to it.

But, even worse, what *really* bothers me is that el duncehead cast this latest screw up, in the context of current politics, in a way, set against his background that is being linked to the ambiguity of his comments, in a way it which it will resonate.

On top of that, el duncehead is already on his pandering tour and will further compromise the (what I hoped would be) conservative agenda.

El duncehead is now a de facto lightning rod and so damaged that I wouldn't trust him to get anything conservative passed without disgusting, unnecessary compromise. El duncehead is good at that already without being the new poster boy for racism, true or not, which I've now really been wondering since he said it.

As others have pointed out, yet again.

You don't defend the statement. You ask that the entire party not be judged by a dumb statement by a leader who was raised in a different time and place, who knows now that the old attitudes were wrong, but had a momentary relapse.
