For you bang_listers to chew on. I'm sure comments on the shooting of a fleeing felon will be forthcoming as it usually brings out both sides of the debate rapidly.

The 17-year-old teen shot in the head by a Seattle police officer last night as he ran away from police had been armed only with a gun-shaped commercial paint sprayer nozzle when he robbed a customer at an automated teller machine in Wallingford.

Never bring a paint sprayer to a gunfight. To do so is to be very impious to Father Darwin.

I guess this gets classified as "thinning the herd."

I just gave the Sub shop owner a catchy phrase for the media to glom onto.

Score one for the good guys. I just wish we peasants were held to the same standard under the same conditions.

Actually, earlier this year we had a bystander shoot a fleeing Jewlery store robber and he didn't evn go before the grand juror. By bystander I mean he was walking down the sidewalk when the two perps came out the door and got in their car and tried to drive away.

Of course the other Seattle paper was sure to identify the shot perp as black and the cop as white, lest anyone try not to assign a racial quality to this criminal getting his brain splattered around the inside of his cranium.

I would have to have been a double tap for he 9mm round to put the guy in critical condition after striking his head. A .45 would have split his head at the cellular level with one shot.

I demand that the government step in and pass laws requiring that all sprayer nosels be painted with an orange stripe on the end so that police will know it is not a real weapon.

If the "gun" was fake or real isn't the point, IMHO.
The victims as well as the police believed it was a real gun.
It was robbery.
The kid was stupid in the first place

Perfecto..and well said! And, if I may add, any brat with a spray CAN anywhere near my walls is asking for the same treatment. Grafitti "artists" (as the Los Angeles Times now likes to call them) should be shot if their little fingers hit the button.

The robber was "clearly running faster than the officers". That tells you all you need to know;))))
