Note to self: Conway seems nice; Susan E. seems like a warmed-over, druged-out, Screecher. Just mho

His recent interviews and appearances, to promote two books about family life co-written with his wife Tipper, have been ponderous and have not been received with enthusiasm in Middle America. They haven't been received well in Outer America, either.
The guy is a loser, and the only reason he even ranks in the polls at all is because the typical Democrat core voter isn't informed enough to know who other contenders might be.

As much as I dislike Gore, and I can't state how loathsome I find him, I still, nevertheless felt sorry for him because of his domineering old man who ran his life. Men should live their own lives and let their kids lead their's. And kids should have their own name too.

al sure turned out to be a dud, didn't he?

"I felt sorry for him because of his domineering old man who ran his life"
Don't feel sorry for someone with such little character as to be unable to direct ones' own life. His father may have been domineering, but true character develops out of adversity. He took the lazy path in life, suckled on the govt teet, was born into money, could retire to a carefree life, But his routinely evolving and molded personalities are derived because nature abhores a vacuum!

I suspect his attempts at "cultivating the big-money donors and political kingmakers" have meant a lot of messages left on answering machines and not many returned calls.

He only won the popular vote last time because he had the Rat political machine behind him. Not only that, remember the surprisingly under-the-radar story about how Gore pressured the INS to legalize a million illegals likely to vote democrat.

Although Mr Gore is intelligent, experienced and has a formidable grasp of policy, he has never been able to shake off the image of being calculating, condescending and willing to shift his stance on any issue for political advantage. Yeah he'll be able to shake off that image as easily as Osama bin Laden can shake off the image of being a terrorist.

"Gore pressured the INS to legalize a million illegals"
Just another ace up their sleves. They know the tide is turning back conservative and that they can not win without cheating. Win at any cost is their motto. All we need do now is purge the activists judges so that policies like abortion, reversing & nullifying legislativly ordained election rules, and a slew of other aborations we suffer by fiat of the liberal judical hounds in robes of dishonor.

No, kidding. Can anyone name even ONE instance in the hours and hours we have seen Gore on television that he wasn't condescending, pretentious, ponderous, demagogic, lying, or smarmy? (Or a combination of several at the same time!)
In all the hours of interviews and speeches I have seen of this guy, I have never once seen him appear likeable. Not once.
Even Hillary has an occasional moment where she grudgingly puts on a facade of normalcy. Gore...never!

Polls in the key primary state of New Hampshire have shown that Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts has an early lead among Democratic candidates. I would discount the importance of Kerry's poll numbers in New Hapshire since it borders Kerry's home state of Massachussets. Remember in 1992, Tsongas (also from Massachussets) won the New Hampshire presidential primary, but Clinton was ultimately able to win the DemocRAT nomination.

This screwball could have been president for 10 years if he would have done the honorable (Goldwater) thing and told his president to resign. The American people would have voted him in for two terms. I've thought that too. Wonder if he's still kicking himself over that one, now that Bill & Hill have rewarded his "loyalty" by stabbing him in the back numerous times.
He's got my sympathy, I'll give him that, but he won't ever get my vote!

Gator, He can get a job as a consultant to Krispy Kreme Dognuts in the taste testing dept. The fatter he gets all I can thing of is that old Saturday Night Skit with John Belushi, "The bore who wouldn't leave"....

It's a way of getting the radicals to beg him to stay in the race. Also, he is a fat target right now. It helped Perot to back out of the race for a time and jump back in. I think they are considering the positives involved for Al to do the same.
According to the press everything would favor AlGore with primaries packed together. I don't think anyone really knows Kerrey, the Ketchup Widower.

As opposed to Arkincyde, I suppose he thought it was the safer move. He only makes safe moves. (Tipper keeps his balls in her purse)

Hmmm.... I wonder if his being calculating, condescending and willing to shift his stance on any issue for political advantage could have anything to do with that?

The way I see it, Gore only has two choices vis a vis running for president...Stevenson or Nixon. He can run again in '04 and prove he's a loser like Adali or wait a cycle or two and run as the "new Gore" ala Tricky Dick. He might even win, like Nixon did, with the help of a third party that draws away votes, this time from the conservative candidate.
