Look, everyone at one time or another was abused by someone else...
if we keep trying to re-distribute wealth in this sad way, there will be no dollar free to spend for anyone!!
Shit happens and thats that!!

Wow...thanks for this article. As someone who is Norwegian and German, I find this very troubling! At the same time, I understand it and know that it is not that much different from when the people came to the US from Europe and Scandanavia and established their townships based on their nationality. It's no different, really, from any nationality or religion that frowned upon marrying outside of one's own heritage. What is troubling is that once it happens, I can't imagine that anyone can be so heartless toward any child that they would cause it to be persecuted. And it might have been me! Not a comforting thought at all.

Torment of the Abba star with a Nazi father
It is unfortunately true. I think things like this were a reaction to their own, often willing collaboration. They took out their anger, which would rightfully be directed at themselves, against the most visible and innocent symbols of the occupation.

BTW....there was a similar problem between the Northern and Southern people of Norway. But once again, it is naive to think that this is exclusive to Norway.

LOL....well, I doubt anyone ever treated you in that way. If they had, you might not have this attitude. On the other hand, for the most part, I agree with what you are saying about trying to redistribute the wealth and pay for past stupidity. The abuse this blatant must be acknowledged and apologized for. But then, where does it end? This is just not that unusual for that period of time. Look at the religious groups who absolutely shunned their own for going outside their religion. Look at the nationalities who wanted to remain pure amongst themselves....which may well result in inbreeding, I should think! Probably the best thing that ever happened to those kids, in some respects, was getting an infusion of new genes. :)

Same thnig happened in Vietnam to children who had G.I. Fathers. They're outcasts in Vietnamese society.

Compare this to prolifers who are against abortion except in case of rape or incest. The foetus doesn't know whether it
was created from rape, incest, or inconvenience. If abortion
is wrong, it is wrong across the board. These children in
were innocents no matter how they were conceived.

I guess the question has to come up...was it the same way in the American south after the civil war? Because one knows that the yankees made their way through the heart of the south.

No doubt this was true everywhere.

"At one notorious children's home in Trysil, in southern Norway, the children were allegedly forced to endure a horrific daily regime, in which they were lashed to their beds at four in the afternoon and forced to lie still until eight the next morning." "Forbidden from using the bathroom they often soiled themselves and would lie in their own faeces until morning when they would be woken by being doused with a bucket of water. The children were force-fed, and if they threw up their meals, they were forced to eat them again."
Just thought that bore repeating. I'll never buy a product from Norway again.

ame thnig happened in Vietnam to children who had G.I. Fathers. They're outcasts in Vietnamese society.True, but you never see these lawsuits/reparations against non-Western governments. Hell will freeze, for instance, before the northern Muslim Sudanese pay reparations to the southern Christian Sudanese that they are currently enslaving and or murdering. It's a guilt game only for those countries that are expected to feel guilt. A leech game. The non-Western countries are invulnerable to guilt, that's only for Western countries because there's no money to be gained by lawsuits against non-Western countries. Just ask the babies born nine months after Pakistan invaded Bangladesh.

Norway seems very willing to criticize other countries' human rights records, but not so willing to look in their own back yard.

Are you kidding? I can tell you about similar abuses to children in this country. Some of the kids who were supposedly cared for in our welfare systems...kids who were placed in inadequate foster care, etc....kids who were placed in orphanages for one reason or another! You better never buy another American product again either! :)

You got that right.
The have nots are always willing to sue the haves with big pockets, it beats working to bring your own third world, crap-hole country into at least the 18th century. Just lay guilt on the West and get them to pay for everything.
