A few months back an English paper..Times London I believe forwarded a report that the U.S. had confronted Syria with U.N. sanctions violations regarding Iraq.
Satillite photos revealed engines for M-29's...rebuilt engines for T-72'S...SAM'S..and other resupply assets..all coming from ex Soviet block nations to Syria..the overland to Iraq.
Chinese technology is there..above the Fibre optic com link /radar systems.
U.S. has Saddam dead to rights..all he can do is buy time for himself...his fate is sealed.
The denials from Syria and countries like the Czecs is comical..."Who me...we do not have any signed foreign export liscenes with that country"

Riddle me this, then: Wouldn't Saddam have some clue about this, and wouldn't he be screaming bloody 'ell over invasion of his territory, sovereignty, etc.? That's the part I don't get.
How wouldn't everybody know about it? If this report is essentially true--and I think it is--Hussein's in a cache 22 if he tried to complain about an "invasion". The weapons would immediately be seized and shown to the world...

Having served in an intel unit during my years in the Air Force, I learned that, very often, the reason something is classified is to keep it out of OUR media's hands, not the enemies. If we indeed have Special Ops forces on the ground in Iraq, I guarantee that Saddam already knows about it, but is unable to effectively counter them.

Conscious of those watchful eyes, the Iraqis have made almost all their weapons systems mobile and shift them perpetually. This makes absolutely NO sense. It would be a HUGE propaganda victory for Saddam to catch a couple of these guys. If he were conscious of them, he would be hunting them, not avoiding their gaze.
Another Debka allegation fails the smell test.

This article claims the special forces are monitoring know WMD sites. That means there is a very limited range where they can be dispersed, making it much easier to find them.
