Sheesh! Who can take seriously the charges of racism from a man who finds no fault with Joseph Stalin? If Stalin wasn't a racist, who in America would qualify?
To: GailA
I have never before heard of Dr Jonathan Farley so why should I care what this or any other anti-American communist thinks?
To: GailA
considering that THROUGHOUT American history, blacks, latinos,asians & american indians have VOLUNTEERED to defend freedom (despite prejudice,racism & dis-incentives to enlist), FAR OUT OF PORPORTION TO our numbers as a percentage of society, i figure the professor's chances of discouraging black participation (or other minority enlistment!) to be between SLIM & NONE!
even this 'ole (balding) soldier @ 56 years old is planning to re-enlist in the ARNG or USAR for another 2year hitch. (my LAST ADVENTURE!)

And we wonder why their is racial tension between Blacks & Whites, Mr. Farley is so caught up in the past he doesn't appreciate the equality of the Future & the Present. If hes going to wait for Reparations, I think he'e going to get his feelings hurt.

Yawn.......
To: One More Time
Because he's teaching young skulls full of mush at one of our Universities.

Ho Hum....another RACIST speaks.

I was once a college student and these guys don't frighten me. They are so extreme that they accomplish the opposite of their stated opinion, most students who encounter such a Prof come away with a stronger support for America.
To: GailA
Seems like "racism" is nothing but a polemical phrase anymore.

"Did you know Farley ran for office under the Green Party in TN
Farley 2002
Some of his more 'important' issues he ran on"
* reparations for slavery and segregation
* the removal of the Confederate flag from public view
* free public education through college or vocational school
* universal health insurance
* an end to the prison-industrial complex, the so-called war on drugs and three strikes
* freedom for political prisoners like Mumia Abu-Jamal and Leonard Peltier
* an end to corporate welfare
* the abolition of the death penalty
* a living wage
* proportional representation
* an end to the military-industrial complex
* a reappraisal of third world debt
* opposition to globalization
* exposing the crack-CIA connection
* statehood for D.C.
Let's see, 'Free Mumia' and reparations? And that ever present conspiracy of crack and the CIA. Forgive me, I thought this guy was as bad as Asa Gordon. I was wrong. He's worse!!

The greatest act of domestic terrorism before 11 September took place in Oklahoma, but not in 1995--in 1921. Jealous over the economic success of local blacks, whites in Tulsa, Oklahoma, razed 'Black Wall Street' to the ground, bombarding it by air and killing hundreds, perhaps thousands
Do what say huh? I hope this idgit isn't teaching history. There's a reason that it's called the "Tulsa Race Riots" and not the "Tulsa Economic Riots". I hope he's not suggesting that the black people in Tulsa are absolved of any guilt in that matter.

Farley 2002He ran for office under the Green Party this year. I'm thinking the little patsy is just upset he lost
To: GailA
Because he's teaching young skulls full of mush at one of our Universities. Fortunately, he does not: he probably teaches algebra and calculus.

This is typical Clinton-type rhetoric. The First Amendment does not cover workplace behavior - that is, you can't work at Sears and stand there pontificating Marxist philosophy in front of customers. Just one look at this person in front of 'ol Che and you understand that he probably is extremely verbal and pushes the envelope until people react. He should cop that attitude in China or Cuba and see how long he stays free (or alive).
Of course, his vision of the world is to oppress everyone who disagrees with him. Just ask him - he KNOWS what is right for everybody else!

Enviro-wackos = WATERMELONS (Green on the outside, Red on the inside)
"Civil Rights" leaders = RARE STEAKS (Black on the outside, Red on the inside)

Vanderbilt is a PRIVATE university is it not? I would urge all alumni and parents considering sending a son or daughter there to voice their concern over a prof like Farley being on staff.
Maybe this guy should just stick to math, although methinks maybe that's a problem for him too.

Well, we'll start with the fact that both sides were armed and both sides (black and white) fired on each other in separate skirmishes. Since there are conflicting reports on whether the crowd of blacks outside the courthouse or the group of whites opposing them fired first, who really knows what started it. A good portion of blame lies squarely on the Tulsa newspaper that published reports advocating lyching the next day.
Let's not blow this incident out of proportion. Only 36 people lost their lives in the riot, 10 white, 26 black. Sad yes, but not a huge tradegy or even in the top ten of US riots where folks have lost their lives.
Someone also needs to let the article's author know, sometime next week when he's through demonizing whitey, that it was white National Guard troops that disarmed the white vigilante groups and freed their black captives.
