Absolute morons. If anything, you actually demostrated to be one yourself.
Firstly, Dave S correctly pointed out the deficiency in the thread-opening post. He also expressed what was wrong with an uncommon precision. You have managed to miss the point entirely and perceive it to the lack of interest. That is incorrect.
Secondlt, you should refrain from incivilities such as name-calling you reverted to.
You owe Dave S an apology.

Ted showed up in court with marks that indicate he was beaten overnight before his last appearance in the courtroom. Those are evident on yesterday and today's photos of him, taken by a Reuters photographer covering the trial. He looks ok to me.

American inmates in the Hanoi Hilton managed to flip the bird and make statements in captivity under deplorable circumstances. "Green Beret" Maher couldn't summon up the will to make a public disavowal of the coerced confession with cameras and press looking on? Or were "they" in on it too (as some Maher defenders seem to suggest)?

Dave S, I am so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, sorry.
But as far as the poster who uses the name TopQuark, you can bet he's a geek that has converted his remote control into something that looks like a Star Trek phaser.

He has not been permitted to utter a peep to the press--the consequences of this are severe--normally beatings--on return to jail. And your proof of beatings as a common occurrence or punishment for speaking to the press is...????
BTW, I don't care if he's a reporter or a photographer. He's someone from the "outside" within shouting distance, even if a zoom lens was used.

DAve S: this was addressed to you.
Dave S, I am so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, sorry. Thank you Job; you showed yourself to be a gentleman.
Have a good night.

Spoken like someone who does not understand what a quark is.

OK, I acknowledge that he does not look good in that one. thanks.

He sends out ESP broadcasts telling fellow psychics he has been beaten, especially since he is so cut off from the world.

That's a Reuter's photo.....and I doubt they tried to portray him in a sympathetic light....this photo is very sad to look at of him.

Ted wasn't getting first class fare from Alain Ducasse? Shucks...Edmond Safra isn't eating there anymore, either.

No one from the US/Britain could fathom that they don't let someone change the plea, especially given admittance as to how it was obtained.
What "admittance" are you talking about? And by the way, while Ted was up on the witness stand in front of the public and the media, what would have happened to him if he had said, "This is all a sham! I was tortured into confessing!" All this dissembling about him not having access to the outside world to tell the truth is a crock. He had the chance in front of the world in open court and didn't take it.

Yes, prisoners in jail will look haggard, fatigued and unhealthy. Some will also look fit, trim though, lacking in a healthy, ruddy glow. What's to say Teddy wasn't doing a little acting to further his cause? I hope the thought that he could have been playing up his "awful" treatement has crossed your mind.
To: Bkauthor
Can you cite to where you are getting any of these "facts" so we can check them for ourselves?

You really, really, really wanted it to be about Bill Maher, didn't you? Maybe the powers that be in Morroco will let us trade Bill for Ted, if they have never experienced his rendition of what for humor "is".

I used to sympathize with the guy, read Dunne's stuff...read some more. Now I think the guy's a whacko! Ten years is pretty soft. He lit a match and it killed a guy. Tsk Tsk. It doesn't matter if the guy wasn't so nice, or his wife was a witch. Maher scammed and got busted. V's wife.

What you are looking at is a cropped image that has been changed in size. Look carefully at the resolution, it is degraded. So has the brightness and contrast. It has the appearance of an image that has been resized but not re-sampled. The marks on his neck appear to be digital distortions.
Go to the AP site and you will find several shots of Maher from the 28th with his attorney and in court, together with shots from today's events. There are no similar marks evident in any of those pix.
Just my opinion of course.......

Oh, c'mon. It's a polite way of saying bitch. V's wife.
