If Schroder thinks he can survive to the end of his term on raising taxes and running every business out of Germany, he's wrong. He will be removed in a no confidence vote within six months.

Thanks for the ping Ivan. Just another liar, cheat and thief obviously. He apparently thought that just because he said that he wouldn't have to raise taxes while he was campainging, that that made it so forever. Obviously never heard about chicks coming home to roost eventually.
Godspeed

The Gerries threw an anti-American hissy fit to reelect that miserable excuse for a Chancellor; now they can live with the results.

" My worry is that all this verbal abuse will turn physical, she said. Indeed, the Chancellors bodyguard unit is contemplating increasing its numbers. " Here is a familiar theme, right out of the Daschle paybook.

Getting rid of him would do little good. Germany is contractually obligated by EU treaties to keep its deficit under 3%. In the short run, the only way to do this is to raise taxes.
Of course, if the EU ends rather abruptly, one would have to say it couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of obtuse bureaucrats....

Arnulf Baring, the 70-year-old conservative historian, has called on Germans to take to the streets to protest One should not do that in Germany; this historian has learned nothing.

Any truth to the rumor that Gerhard Schroder was caught in flagrate delicto with his pants around his ankles while getting a 'Monica' from one of his 'fans?'
Or, was it the rumor the obverse of that one? .... I'm afraid I cannot recall ..... Oh, well ...

Very soon, the krauts will need a truck load of cash to buy a loaf of bread.

Very soon, the krauts will need a truck load of cash to buy a loaf of bread. Oh boy, and we all know what came out of those times.

I wonder how many "brown shirts" he'll need?

So this time, we offer them the suggestion that a limited government might just be the ticket they're looking for, not imperialism.

Oh boy, and we all know what came out of those times Yeah, I'm old enough to remember it. It could be an instant replay. However, there are not many Jews left in germany.

Oh boy, and we all know what came out of those times. Yeah, we need to keep a sharp eye on Austrian paperhangers with little mustaches.
Particularly if they get thrown in jail and spend the time there writing tomes entitled "My Battle".

So this time, we offer them the suggestion that a limited government might just be the ticket they're looking for, not imperialism Seriously, I agree. I hope the temporary insanity ends, the Schroeder government falls and Germany turns to the right, like the rest of Europe. A prosperous and stable Europe is very much in our interests.
