"It panders to the ultra-right with William Safire (who at least has brains), Bill O'Reilly (who doesn't) and Jim Wooten (a Republican shill). That phalanx edges out, by space and placement, the few moderates, such as Cynthia Tucker and Jay Bookman."
Go figure.
If I had only known that Cynthia Tucker (ban all guns) and Jay Bookman (Bush wants to be emperor of the world) were moderates.

You can get large piles of this guy's rag for free on Thursdays.

I grab the occasional paper which my co-workers abandon in the lunch room. I would never dream of paying for it or allowing myself to be part of the circulation of the paper.
Many people do not realize that newspapers receive around half of their revenue from advertisers who only pay because of the circulation numbers. Bargain prices on newspaper subscriptions still provide significant revenue.

I encourage everyone to refrain from supporting the enemies of our freedoms.I obviously don't have a problem with that.
Thank-you for your words of support! :-)

As I understand it, CL does pretty well. They sell plenty of advertising to folks who should know better, and they do make a pretty penny on the semi-pornographic personals in the back.
. . . not that I would know anything about that.
