May I add to your argument about the flexibility the Biblical account of creation has? The meaning of a word, no matter how many times it appears in the Bible, is determined by its immediate context -- not a majority vote. In the case of Genesis, if we are to conclude that a 24 hour day (yom) represents a full rotation of the earth about its axis relative to the sun, then there is an apparent problem: God didn't create the sun until "day" 4. This detail opens the possibility of alternative interpretations of the word yom, which may or may not demand a literal 24 hr period. Secondly, to be strictly literal, the phrase "evening and morning" does not necessarily encompass a 24 hour period, but something considerably less, like the hours between late afternoon to early morning. Perhaps the phrase could be taken figuratively, expressing the concept of the beginning and ending of period of time (or labor). Additionally, if the phrase "evening to morning-the first day" is to be taken only as a literal 24 hours, why is it absent on the 7th day? In fact, this is the point in which God rested and has not ceased even until now, since Hebrews 4 informs us that he is still in that Sabbath rest into which he entered after he created. Therefore, if the 7th day includes all of world history to date, and to God "a 1,000 years is a day and a day is 1,000 years," isn't it at least possible the universe is extremely old, perhaps even older than modern science has even begun to imagine? Regards

Does self delusion cover assuming that you, personally, know how God designed everything in the Universe, and are qualifed to say authoritatively how it does or doesn't work?

Vodoo, magic, alien intervention or a meddlesome god can explain just about anything.

I like what mother therese(my mother too) said...
"this is a two star hotel(science)---
don't get hung up/stuck...LOST in it"!
Something much better is happening---coming!

Don't confuse the "creationists" with the obvious facts.

Then it wouldn't be called evolution if God created it! Sure it would -- there is no inherent conflict between evolution and the Scriptures except for whether there was a prime initiator. The only real arguments against evolution as currently taught (and there are many) are scientific.

I suggest you read the damn thing and don't embarrass yourself further until you are familiar with the content, not just the authoritative nature, of the reply. Translation: You're on to something and I haven't yet figured out how to distract you from pushing the issue.

Why not? I am but a mortal man, infused with curiousity and driven by a desire to know and explore the wonders of His Universe. It is the nature of man, and by His design.

That is a really big EXCEPT---the prime initiator!
Sorta like night and day...not much difference---right!

I know, your mommy taught you this [how life formed on Earth] she and would never lie to you.
Don't feel bad, that is how almost all of us were taught our religious views and is a very important part of our growth process. To have your world view challenged, is like someone calling your mother a liar.
For the majority of people, as they grow and learn about the world around them, their world view is constantly changing.
I honestly respect your faith and admire it. However, I do tend to get a little upset when you use false information in an attempt to force your own personal world view upon others.

Major flaw in the basic premise, is the usage of a linear instead of an exponential growth rate. New families will appear slowly at first and emerge faster over time.
2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, etc...
I agree, and I'd like to expand a little bit. There will be exponential growth for a while, until biodiversity reaches an equilibrium, where they won't be any room for new creatures. There's no niches to be occupied, no room for improvement via evolution. Species are already so efficient that any changes are a detriment.
There probably haven't been any new families of animals evolving in thousands and thousands of years. You would think that humans terraforming (farming, building cities)the planet would create new niches for animals to evolve, but humans "evolve" too fast. In 435 years the environment has changed a lot. There is concrete everywhere and the natural flow of water and other resources has been continually altered for those 435 years. We change things so fast, new species don't have time to evolve. There are probably new families evolving deep in untouched forests, under the ocean, or in jungles, but it's impossible to tell because we haven't catalogued every living being on the planet yet. You won't see a new family of animal evolving in your backyard because you mow it every week.
FYI I'm not a democrat or environut, don't flame me for being one. I didn't say that humans taking over the earth is a bad thing, I'm just trying to point out the ID'ers that you can't use raw, basic 8th grade statistics to prove things about evolution, there are too many variables.

I answer you and you simply repost your old drivel? You and scripter! Calling us names, attacking our character and evading the issue is not an answer, it's just a post.
