I agree that Ford would have been a real problem politically, mostly because he doesn't seem convinced that Republicans are motivated only by greed and hate. Pelosi and Gephardt actually believe those are the reasons Republicans believe what the do. If they can't understand their enemy, they can't win -- as Sun Tzu teaches us. Ford doesn't seem to think Republicans are evil, which would allow him to think logically about how to beat us.

Look at that picture. Today would be a good day for President Bush to give Mr. Ford a call.

Another thing, The ONLY thing the left is saying about Pelosi is that, "she knows how to win elections." This is really telling about the Dems. Winning elections is all that is important to them, not principles, not having a message, not the common man; just winning (i.e. Power). Ford was trying to get that point across. The Reps should watch out for Pelosi and her crew; they'll shift with any wind, change any political view, say ANYTHING, to get elected. Prepare now for 2004, cause they're gonna fight dirty.

Basically, Nancy is in this position because she's bought and paid for it. Her husband is uberrich. She has donated to most of the Democrats' fundraising efforts, so this is her reward.

I couldn't be happier because she's very leftward, and has already had some major scandal regarding the Presidio land trust (a park here in SF). She's not part of mainstream America, but I think this will cause more Americans to reject Democrats.

The Leftists lost ground. One would rationally reconsider the effort and seek change. It's the old adage, evolve or die. The party has crawled a bit farther back into their cave by nominating Pelosi. Gephardt saw the Iraq mistake and corrected it, yet was shafted regardless. His correction represented the change which the Leftist refuse to raise from it's grave.
