And I reciprocate that due respect to a fellow veteran. I disagree. The image has no language in it. So the interpretation of it is left up to the individual.
Now, some who have given their critique expressing the image has communism in it are expressing their own personal views. This is fine because it is what I asked for. But why can't the JBS-mentality get out of my thoughts when I read those critiques?
It won't, but, let's say it is used as-is. Wouldn't it mean something as to where this image appeared? If it appeared in a conservative periodical, one would be hard pressed to define it as having Leftist overtones.
That's how I see it.
No more uniforms, but we're still brothers in service, right? HOOAH!

Standing alone, it looks scary to me, an elderly white woman. Yes, ma'am, I totally understand. But please see my post in #101. It addresses the issue you raised about "intended audience."
BTW, if 1938 is your birth year, you share that with my mother. ;-)

"The image has no language in it. So the interpretation of it is left up to the individual. "
There is your mistake! The interpretation is left to the individual. The graphics are TOO close to the decades old propaganda. That stereotype MUST be changed. They are looking at the same old, same old here. They won't take the time to figure out the sublime. Will think more. BRB.

Okay. Your statements here most certainly can't be rejected out of hand, that's for sure. What do you think would make the point very clear?

I keep thinking back to reaching for the ideal goal of all people. "Content of your heart" idea. Shunning of the 'old ways', the old concepts. kind of like a shunning of lib-lies and and old KKK crap at the same time. Appeal to ALL. Targeted to Black, but a message to all. You can do it.

The first thing I thought of when I saw that image was Germany under Hitler.
To: OpenMinded1
That's there too. That's why ya CAN'T leave it as it is. The visual difference MUST be seen at first sight. Only then will the words be read. The words must be short and resonate with the target group. MUST also have a resounding message to the rest of society. An honest nutshell. Hence the 'Content...' reference earlier from MLK. It zeroes in on the target audience but is universally accepted by all GOOD people.

Looks like a black guy who was just freed himself from a Mugabe jail and is pissed that his family died of starvation because Mugabe said no to the US offer of food. Am I close ?

It appears that the mans forehead has a heart shaped figure on it.
The stripes on his shirt reminds me of the type of clothes a prisoner might wear.
The end of the broken chain link almost looks like a person diving into something...
The arm/hand drawing gives me the impression that a person is drowning. There are 'figures' of people on the fingers who appear to be doing nothing but enjoying the flag on the mans palm and the support the hand is giving them.
The man looks like he is getting ready to turn around and hit the arm/hand or something or someone else but it seems like 'someone' to his side has delayed him and he gives a dirty look but he doesn't care what anybody else thinks.

I agree with your thought, but the subject of this thread is different. Any thoughts? Did ya read them all? Got any input?

Ok, honestly, it looks like reparations propaganda.
To: rdb3
Looking closely, perhaps 'staring' at the shirt sleeve for a moment, you will notice in the upper area the shape of a beak and then curving down, the head and neck of some type of bird. What is that bird with the red thing hanging down? Ahhh, a turkey....the sleeve is a turkey. A jive turkey?
To: John Lenin
Yup, that too. I totally agree. The reparations are far more relevant today.
