You are right, axel f. But it was my understanding that she said she thought she could do it without raising taxes even though she refused to sign a no-tax pledge. You and I and everyone else with any sense knew that meant she would raise taxes, but it saved her from explain which taxes and exactly how much.

The KC-Star, like every other liberal newspaper, will spend the next 2 to 6 years hoping that the economy does poorly and the war on terror goes badly just so President Bush will look bad. What stories they print and what editorials they write will be chosen with that outcome in mind. Nothing would please them more that seeing GW Bush go down in flames.
All that is bad enough in itself, but when they try to pass it off as some kind of public service, it is a little too much for some of us to take. Rat Patrol is right... they have gotten away with it for too long. I plan on being as big a thorn in their side as possible.

I just realized I sounded like a know-it-all from hell. Please forgive...My anti-Democrat bile sometimes gets the best of me.

Don't worry, axel. If I've learned anything being an Internet addict, it's to not take things too seriously or to be overly sensitive. Hey, you're one of my favorite FReepers. I knew how you meant it!
Just say what you mean to me and don't give it another thought.

The Sun? It's a free community newspaper that's going from twice a week distribution to once a week.
I'll grant you that Steve Rose (and his father before him) are somewhat conservative, but I don't buy any argument that the Sun serves as a counter-balance to the KC Star. That's like comparing the NY Times to the Harlem Gazette.

Thanks for being understanding. I never mean to be rude to people, but sometimes it comes out wrong.
Hooray...Kline...SEEMS to have won...Do I dare get excited yet?

On the news last night they said Kline has not officially won but he's claiming victory anyway. Then they said there are 2900 more votes to count and Kline has a 4100 vote lead. LOL! What do they want from the man?

Yes...but...but...he's PRO-LIFE! We can't have that! Can't we PLEASE find enough votes SOMEWHERE to stop him from becoming AG? I hate the media. I just heard Chris Biggs has filed a request for a recount.
I found this quote attributed to Steve Cloud, who was describing the Johnson County delegation in the statehouse: "We have 13 solid moderates and eight religious right-wing Republicans." Just what the heck is a "solid moderate"? We have got to get rid of this clown!

How about "We have 13 hard-nosed, left-leaning moderates and 8 solid conservatives." It really is all in the wording. I can't believe a media person can be that blatantly bigoted and still have a job. On second thought, I can believe it.
