Bullsh*t! Vermont acknowledges the right of any adult to carry a weapon if he/she chooses. Some "Illinois."

I'm sad to hear about my home state of Illinois. Terry McC. mentioned that the red of the blue-red map is becoming more blue in flyover country. One only has to look to at California, to see how bad things can actually get. Greyout signed a real estate transfer tax bill shortly before the election. I will now give up 3% of my real estate appreciation just for the privledge of living here. Our 10% income tax rates will surely go up to cover our $24B shortfall. California is truly becoming Sweden. Colorado looks better and better all the time.

Hey the Daley Mob will take care of Illinois, and rape what they don't want to keep.

Seems that the Illinois GOP is getting exactly what it deserves for putting that corrupt RINO George Ryan into office.

When I lived in Illinois, it was marginally Republican, but all RINO. My law school classmate Al Salvi ran for the Senate against Dick Durbin in 1996, and he was a great candidate. He lost because the country-club Repubs were uncomfortable with a candidate who was pro-life and backed by the NRA, so they voted for a fruitcake liberal instead.
Having said all that, it is sad to see this culmination. When I talked to my mom after the election, she was so depressed about Illinois she couldn't really enjoy the "big picture." However, I think this current Dem administration could be the best thing that ever happened to the Illinois Republican party, but they need some new conservative leadership. Put that on your prayer request list.

This was a necessary (if unfortunate) housecleaning of the corruption that George Ryan and the establishment elitist RINO GOP has wrought upon this state.
4 years from today, there will be ANOTHER house cleaning. There's a reason Illinois Voters only elect a Democrat to the Governor's mansion once every 28 years.

I live in Will county, we ain't much better... (sigh)
Hey, look on the bright side: Neither of us lives in C(r)ook County!

Al's a good guy. I hope he runs again.
Look @ the bright side: the GOP elitist bastards here in Illinois finally got their comeuppance!!!

You're right. Illinois still has something to learn from Vermont.

I'm sad to hear about my home state of Illinois. It's up to the Conservatives still here to follow this Dark Age with a renascence that will make Illinois it a place that you'll want to return to.

You're right. This is merely an inevitable chapter in the story that began four years ago.

There's a reason Illinois Voters only elect a Democrat to the Governor's mansion once every 28 years. Their last one, Dan Walker, went to prison.

There is one kind of fun irony in all this: Congressman Jesse Junior was a big backer of the Peotone airport but he needed a Republican Illinois Gov, President, and U.S. Congress to get it. And he keeps getting two out of three but never gets all the ducks lined up. Jesse gets screwed by his fellow Illinois 'rats.

The only good thing I can imagine coming of this is for the Conservative movement within the Republican Party to be invigorated.

Actually, the Democratic Governor BEFORE Dan Walker also went to prison. Otto Kerner served time in Club Fed after his fall. Blowdryovich should make it three in a row.
