I put money into MN, SD, IA, and MO. I gave only $20-$40 to each Senate candidate since I'm a poor grad student. However, it looks like my money went to good causes!

In SD, now with 814 out of 844 precincts reporting, Thune has an 1800 vote margin.

He's been trending slightly upward for the past hour. I don't see how (on the)Fritz catches him.

>>Methinks that if Johnson wins, the people of SD might wish they had voted the other way<<

If Johnson wins, the people of SD should be ashamed of themselves.

Let's also not forget the RINO factor. I wouldn't trust Susan Collins to vote the right way on any issue unless Jesse Helms sat behind her with a loaded revolver pointed at her (empty) head. And no, I have neither forgotten nor forgiven her for her behaviour during impeachment.

Denying the Democrats is one thing. Making the majority work is another.

Regards, Ivan

"WOW. 91% of the precincts reporting... that is looking real good."

See post 3974. Precincts reporting is not the same as precincts counted. The supplemental ballots are being counted separately.

It's not to soon to begin planning for 2004.

You can bet the RATs are.

Good point Shemp, but that is correct for just a few of ya'all. I can speak and argue with someone like yourself, but the core of the libertine party is impossible and just throws a insult along with the usual constitution or 300 year old dead guy quote!

BTW, Nice to meet ya.

I like many Libertarian ideas myself but I tend to be a bit more practical. As much as I would love to see the Department of Education disappear, it ain't gonna happen! As Ronald Reagan said, "there's nothing closer to eternal life on earth than a federal program!" Sad, but true.

Also, don't like the open border policy or the legalization of drugs policy.

They were planning for 2004 ever since December 12, 2000.

They had Akaka (D) senator from HI on earlier before the Lingle win was assured but after the Republicans had definitely taken the Senate. I swear one of the first words out of his mouth is how important it is to be bipartisan. Funny how that only applies when the Republicans are in charge...

Someone said tonight that President Bush had named Chafee's brother to some post and that Lincolm wouldn't be going anywhere.

I agree. He must see Jefford's problem now and think such a move is stupid. However, I don't see Daschle backing away from trying.

I believe the measure passed because people saw it as a privacy issue.

I just read it. It WAS a privacy issue. Everyone has a right to a secret ballot. There are zillions of other ways to prevent voter fraud.

Hey, people who voted Daschle in should be walking around with their heads bowed down to their knees anyway!

Of course tonight/today, I'd believe in Santa Claus. Look, as PEOPLE, I like some Libetarians alot. As a PARTY, I just don't agree with it. I do know we need people in Government we can get along with. People who understand that at TIMES we don't get everything we want. People you can TALK with and discuss things with. From the looks of things, I;d have to disagree that MOST Libetarians vote Republican. Seems to me they vote their agenda, to heck with the Country.
