LOL

Arent we the verbose poster. ~Grin~

I must've struck a nerve.

The last thing I concern myself with is how I come across to people...who's seeming desire is to be heard rather than competent....especially when they are out of their depth.

With that said...

My previous statement stands unaddressed and previous questions unanswered.

I've been convinced for many years that ISO 900x was/is a non-governmental, non-tariff restraint of trade made to discourage furriners from doing business in Europe.

As one who has been on both sides of the process, I'll opt for action over process any day. Procedures and process are not conducive to productivity and making money.

"For intelligence work; where judgement, intuition and support from your superiors means everything? How does a good FBI/Intel guy benefit from this stuff. Streamline a process for designing chips or to evaluate the risks in financing a project, but for intel?"

Actually, I think Six Sigma would help most of all where you have too many hands dealing with pieces of information. The more "un-needed" human interaction...the more the opportunity for error rises...Six Sigma is notorious for cutting out chunks of bureaucratic information channels.

Considering that I dont know how information is currently processed, I cant give you any idea of how it would change but I think we all know that information has been jammed up based solely on Human judgement...that was catostrophically wrong.

I am sure process' can be put in place to better streamline the flow of information. I dont believe [nor would I think any proponent of Six Sigma] it can replace humint.

Does anyone with an ounce of sense think Six Sigma should replace the Human judgement? Of course not.
Does anyone with an ounce of comprehension of legitimate Six Sigma process' think it will? Of course not.

I call it a combo of PC'sm and a subservience to saudi sensibilities. Have the Saudis been using SigmaSix when they subvert the US establishment?

But, hey, hope you're right. Anything that helps in the WoT.

"I call it a combo of PC'sm and a subservience to saudi sensibilities."

PC paralysis is definitely gumming up the works. PC is an emotional/rightbrain concept. Six Sigma is cerebral and if the process' are set up properly...they wont take into account anyone's sensibilities. It will simply process the information to the level where judgement can then be factored in by individuals qualified over time [by more Sigma process'] to make the call. As it is...the PC ceiling was too far down the chain of command.

In the end...the only thing that justifies Six Sigma is results. Once results begin to show, you can then identify the individuals bringing results and the ones who arent.

This is how you "begin" to remove the PC nonsense. In every process you have the opportunity for screwed up people to break down the system. That is no reflection on Six Sigma. If run properly it will cut down on errors....and in the end I would rather have that than this sort of reverse PC paralysis flowing the other direction from contrarians who I am of the opinion would still scream antagonistic bloody murder if Jesus Christ himself took over the CIA and began instituting changes.

In my experience the people opposed to Six Sigma are the manipulative types and people who are inherently unwilling to give away control [redundant]. The very people who screwed the pooch pre and post 9/11.

As long as you have the executive level pushing hard on Six Sigma then it cant be stopped...only slowed. Eventually the culture of the intelligence departments will change as you get more and more of "your" people in the loop.
