Chuck-n-Char. Yyyyyep.
I like Dr. Stan too. Still, he alienates people by hitting them over the head trying to show them how much he knows.
He lost a lot of credibility over Y2K.
I sure wish I could get some time to educate the local party bigwigs about how many creative solutions to social problems can originate from conservative principles. They do a rotten job of communicating that.

Thanks for the clarification. Actually I was thinking more along the lines of our current democrats and what their stand would be at the Alamo.

When you submit your ballot, a little flag appears on the screen (and if you voted Republican, your selections are electronically discarded.) I LOVE FReeper droll humor:^)

LOL! Tell Teresa to keep an eye on Harris County's straight ticket totals next Tuesday - not Fort Bend. I guarantee the gains from straight ticket down there will be dwarfed by what comes out of the fifth ward precincts in Harris.
During the last session when I was pushing for that bill, I talked to one of the suburban GOP state reps from an outlying county around Dallas. He was arguing that it helped the GOP because his county was majority republican and in that county, the straight ticket votes were overwhelmingly republican. I asked him to take a look at the stats for Houston in 98 and 00. Out of the total votes cast countywide here, we've averaged 54% of voters using that straight ticket option. Keep in mind that Harris is a GOP county with roughly a 55-56 ORVS on any given day. But when you look at the straight ticket voters alone and which party they picked, the Dems matched us in 1998 and outvoted us in 2000. The same thing happens in most urban counties because the Dems, like sheep, use that one button as their ONLY guide on how to vote in every single race on the ballot. Marginal GOP and former GOP states up north have discovered this and moved to change the law, albeit too late. Now they're in the minority or barely in a majority without the votes to change the law. Texas needs to wake up before that happens here.

Very interesting. No one can claim you are ignorant that is for sure. And it sounds like you really are trying to change things. Good Job. You have more hope than I do. If only we could throw the whole bunch of them out and appoint "Regular Citizens". How did we get to the point where cheating is rampant and very few people ever get punished for it. I just saw some figures on Fox news claiming that 74% of young people are saying they have cheated at school. WOW! Well I guess it is the least we can expect when most of our leaders are nothing to be proud of. I mean you have to deal with people like Sheila Jackson Lee J. I guess we can't expect to much from the next generation when they have examples like that. Take Care
