Now it's Forrester and Lousenberg going mano-a-mano and it's getting good.

I, and New Jersey never saw the laut recently until tonight...I never expected him to look this bad.....if Fritz is like this, it's over
To: zeebee
Why is no one commenting on this. Lousenberg appears like a doddering idiot.

I have no idea why he (Lautenberg) agreed to this debate in the first place. The previous strategy of running out the clock seems like it had been working.
Now be objective... is Lautenberg *really* doing that horrible? I mean, would a Sucker Mom "independent" type think so?

lautenberg is really bad, rambling. I am from NC and I wouldn't mind having Forrester as my senator

Strom Thurmond comes to mind
To: jern
Lautenberg can't even make a coherent sentance.

Lautenberg seems very shaky. Unable to construct a sentence. Forrester is far better composed.

Thanks for the thread. Makes me remember why I detested Lautenberg before--maybe more so now. Forrester is doing an excellent job--talking about guns now--showing up Lautenberg for a gun grabber.
Lautenberg lied about his age issue attacks on Millicent Fenwick 20 years ago. Doug didn't let him skate on it.
Forrester is trying hard to say what he is FOR--that's been a question nagging his campaign--so this is a good showcase for that.
Lautenberg and retirement--perfect together.

the Laut is a straw man that could stay in office 1 year
To: sonrise57
Forrester reminded L about his votes to eliminate death penalty for terrorists, cutting military spending, etc, then asked, "Which one of these votes would you now change" L: "none of them". I thought Forrester's eyebrows would hit the ceiling when he heard that.

I have burst out laughing at least 3 times, with the Laut's behavior-he cannot speak on the fly, he gets flustered, hands flailing, ad hominem attacks, hemming and hawing, keeps obsessing about Forresters "tax reports" ( I assume that he means tax returns).I don't speak Lautenese, so I am not sure exactly what he is talking about, half the time. It's very sad for an old man to be used this way by the Dems, but they use dead bodies for their craven purposes, so it shouldn't surprise anyone.

Ping me if Lousenberg croaks during the debate. I'm up for another memorial rally!
To: Wild Irish Rogue
L is slurring his words and he looks drunk.

I just changed to watch. Lautenberg really looks unable to hold a thought. He stammers, he gets lost mid-sentence, he rambles.
Forrester flat out stating that Lautenberg is fabricating supposed comments that Forrester made.
Laut shuffling papers now, seems to have trouble remembering Forrester's name.
To: William McKinley
this was a big a disaster as last night
To: sonrise57
Lautenberg just lied about the whole 1983 Social Security issue. What a maroon!
Well, they're wrapping up now. Lautenberg now attacking Forrester for not serving in the US Armed Forces, while he fought in WW2. Made it sound like Forrester dodged the draft. Can't wait for the reply.
Doug needs to go for the jugular in the wrap up on Frankie's lies tonight.

Forrester has to be embrassed by the laut
To: sonrise57
Lautenberg is really bad. He's bumbling, stuttering, incoherent.
He was suggesting we suspect things about Forrester and his positions that he couldn't even articulate. It was really wierd.
Lautenberg is worse than I even imagined.
Forrester wins this debate hands down.
