Translation: You voters are morons and too stupid to understand the issues or the candidates themselves. Just vote a straight party ticket (dem).

It's possible that there are decent Democrats that I could vote for with a clear conscience. BUT once they got into office, they'd quickly be forced to serve the interests of the trial lawyers. The Dems are lawyers, and the lawyers are Dems.

Now, my absentee ballot shows Dems. only running for state assembly and senate. I wonder who gets my vote if I check the 'vote the party' box for any party other than then Demo. Does anyone know?
P.S. - I mailed my vote already :)

I pretty much vote straight Rpeublican because I know any Democrat I vote for will support McGreevy, Corzine, Lautenberg, Daschle and Gephardt.
Rather than give those people a bigger base, I just hold my nose and vote the Republican line. It's what I've done since I lost my mind and voted for Perot. :- )

How many voters can make an intelligent choice between candidates for District Court judge, state treasurer, or Soil and Water Conservation District supervisor? I was able to make an intelligent choice all the way down to Township trustee. I only skipped the Library Board(Three running, non partisan, and one of them was a dem - so I left them all blank).
It's called EFFORT.

I have never voted a straight party ticket. I enjoy, and 'feel' good when I vote for the individual candidate I support. Never mind that most of the time it is a straight GOP ticket. I still vote each race. There is a libertarian thrown in here or there, or a race left blank.

We are regularly expected to choose between candidates we don't really know for offices we don't really understand. What a shameful whiny load of crap that is!
Gee of coarse its to hard to actually educate yourself about the candidates and issue that effect your country. So why not just move to Cuba or Iraq where you don't have to worry about it? God help us!

How would these party voters know how to vote on the 10 Constitutional Amendments on the Florida ballots?

I say dittos and A-men to that! As a political junkie, I make it a hobby (and/or job) of mine to find out everything I can about EVERYONE on the ballot. I knew exactly how to vote and even made recommendations to my friends about for whom they should vote for school board races.

I knew exactly how to vote and even made recommendations to my friends about for whom they should vote for school board races. Family and friends know that I am beyond a political junkie and often ask me to write up a list of candidates for them to take to the polls with them so they 'vote right'.
They have little to no interest in politics, but are smart enough to know it has a direct and major influence on their lives and know that I am a good and honest source on the matter.

Here in NC the RATS have controlled the state government, at all levels for over 100 years. Recently the GOP has been making gains and has for the first time in history won a majority of seats on the State Supreme Court and is making large gains in lower court elections. The RATS don't like this one bit and know that voters view the GOP as the 'law and order' party when it comes to criminals.
So what did the RAT controlled legislature do? They removed party affiliation from judicial ballots so voters will not know what party a judge belongs too, hoping to increase their chances of getting more dems back on the bench.

I'll ping the NC crowd.

NC ping!
Please FRmail me if you want to be added to or removed from this North Carolina ping list.

That was one of the easiest votes I had to make.

Here in NC, if you vote a straight party ticket, you also have to look for and find the "nonpartisan" races, like Superior Court Judge, or you won't be casting a vote there.
Just a caveat.
To: Phantom Lord
I already voted. I left 4 blanks, 3 of them library board spots), the other was in a judicial election for the appeals court. Patrick Meter is anti-gun. Unfortunatly he had a clean pass in with two appeals judges running and two winning. I voted for the other judge, and left Meter's blank.
I backed 2 libertarians(on education boards), and the rest GOP.
