You don't think the Clintonistas had security? They had their secret service contingent, you can bet on that.

Of course they do. The Clinton's use the Secret Service to pick up their groceries and carry their luggage. I suspect that when top Secret Service officials want to punish one their agents, they assign them to the Clintons....

Big Deal. . . So What? But the headline I'd really get xcited about would say:
CarEvil Tied Well To A Stone And Dumped In The River !!! ;-))

This is shameful. If president Bush had announced he was going to the funeral, would they are refused him?

I was predicting that their tactic would be to invite Bush an a half hour before the funeral, then a make a big stink that he didn't come. I guess I was wrong, but they did something equally as sleazy...

That's very typical of liberals; instead of addressing dissenting views, they try to shut the speaker down. They not only try, they succeed. Democrats desire to operate as much as possible unopposed. I believe they began this tactic in earnest during the Clinton years. Remember when Gingrich was under continuous investigation by the (oxymoronic) House Ethics Committee? He had to agree to keep his mouth shut in public while the Dems blasted him every chance they got with allegations never proven. Democrats are bullies, afraid of a fair fight.
When Hillary ran for the Senate, she ducked the electorate, attending only carefully scripted events where her handlers knew the reception would be positive. Remember the baseball playoffs and World Series? Mets vs Yankees, and her the big Yankee fan can't find time in her schedule to attend even one inning of one game. And the vaunted New York press never uttered a peep.
Mel Carnahan dies in a plane crash and John Ashcroft is forced to abandon his campaign, meanwhile the Missouri press and Democrats are free to continue theirs. Want irony? This week, Jim Talent's dad dies. He halts his campaign to grieve. The widow continues to pummel Jim with both fists in campaign appearances.
Need more? NJ Senate race: Lautenberg won't come out and debate. And now Wellstone's death, and Dems want Republicans to shut up while they continue campaigning. I repeat, Democrats are bullies that want to operate unopposed.

Strike that 'an', I don't know how it got in there...

You're quite right. They do seem be more skillful politicians than us...

It is very unusual to forbid someone to attend a service for the deceased. The two sons that allowed this to happen showed disrespect for their father, mother, and sister. The press and Dem officials that sanctioned this charade, show no more respect for the deceased.
To declare that certain guests were unwelcome because of the difference of principles and political ideology and to then fawn over Bubba and his entourage completed the shameful affair. I maintain that Wellstone had more principle in his little finger than Bubba has in his entire body.

I agree. Although I'm no expert on the late Wellstone, all the eulogising I've seen of his memory from sincere conservatives leads me to believe that he would not approve of the politicizing of his funeral...
To: kattracks
But of course. It was as much a political rally as it was a 'memorial' service! Yet the dems don't want Coleman campaigning, go figure!

Like I said, too bad EVERY DemocRAT in the country wasn't on that plane.
The DmocRATs atke advantage of evry opportunity, no matter how illogical, emotional, or how in poor taste.
If the Republicans continue to follow the "high road" they will be overwhelmed. We need a Republican Carville - somebody devious, evil, cut-throat, and willing and able to do anything to defeat DemocRATs, not more naive, hihg-minded inept clones of Dole, Bush I, etc.

I watched the memorial service. There are times when
people do share light hearted stories about the deceased and the people attending laugh and have fond memories of
the person they knew. This was beyond a service for Paul Wellstone. This was a grab for free airtime for a Democratic replacement and was at times was disrespectful and I got the distinct impression one son was really interested in showing his political ability. Fritz may run but there is an inner circle choice waiting in the wings.
Count on it. The only wild card is Jesse Ventura.

Carville is like when you step in dog poop. You might not see it, but the smell is always around wherever you go.

I understand what you're saying, and agree somewhat, but I think one of the main fundamental differences between Dems and conservatives is that that Dems believe the ends justify the means; I think in the end we shouldn't sell our itegrity just to win.

IMO, Carville is truly Satan Personified. To me, looking into his face is looking into the face of True Evil.
