MEXICO CITY – A Mexican billionaire said Tuesday he has asked major league baseball for the chance to buy the Anaheim Angels from The Walt Disney Co.

"I love the team, I love the city and I would love to be the Angels owner," said Carlos Peralta, who owns Mexico's Tigres de Puebla, one of the country's most successful baseball franchises.

Peralta said in a phone interview that he submitted a letter to commissioner Bud Selig's office asking to be allowed to make a bid

......and it wasn't like it was a pitch that just caught the black corner......it was piped, just above the belt, right thru the heart of the plate.

It was a great pitch. Perhaps that brushback earlier in the game played with his head a little. I was glad to see both Ortiz and Schmidt back him off.

I must give the Angels their well-deserved due. They are a fantastic team and have not shown that they have any quit in them. They are a very worthy opponent.

BTW, there was a funny item in the Chronicle (I think - they mentioned it on the radio play by play), saying how great it was the J.T. Snow saved Eckstein from a home plate collision during Game 5. LOL!
