Paranoid conspiracy theories? I can only speak for myself here since you directed this at several people, but why you're accusing me of paranoid conspiracy theories is beyond me. I've kept an open mind throughout, and frankly, there are still details that are being withheld.
I have no clue why you seem to want to ignore the fact that these are muslims who are known to be Al Qaeda sympathizers and that the authorities are investigating Camp Ground Zero in connection with this case and that they've investigated Camp Ground Zero several months ago in connection with Al Qaeda.
It is what it is and twisting old posts to play some silly game of gotcha is immature.

Al, Antiguv's just getting off a pre-emptive strike, because he knows that once the whole story comes out we'll rub his nose in it.
Hope you like the taste of crow, Antiguv. Bon appetite.
LOL!

I'm not directing anything at you in particular; I simply copied the previous list of whomever had been involved in that discussion. The point that I've endeavored to make both with this sniper debate and others is that there's a vast world outside the orbit of Al Qaeda. As shocking and compelling as 9/11 was, life does indeed carry on which includes the usual assortment of random psycho nuts carrying out their havoc. There is a danger when we as a nation seek to associate all the world's evils with Bin Laden or Al Qaeda or even radical Islam. It warps who we are as a people when he cower in fear of the next 'wave' or whatever like children jumping at monsters under the bed. Yes, I agree that my derision is childish, but it's meant to serve a purpose. At this juncture, I'm becoming increasingly more concerned of "1984" than I am of Afghans in caves and I feel that perhaps a bit of derision is what's needed to snap some people out of this pall. I don't much like who we seem in danger of becoming as a people, and so I'm trying to respond to that without getting too series 24/7 but while still making the points. Sorry if you felt singled out or even if you thought that comment applied to you when it did not.

In any case, I do anticipate to get flogged myself by at least a few people for that obnoxious little rejoinder. It's ok. I'm a big boy.

Okay. Thanks for the clarification. I disagree with you about where we're headed as a country, but there's nothing wrong with a little disagreement. :-)
What we can all agree on is this: Thank God they've got the scum.

You know what they say: He who laughs last . . . .
. . . . . didn't get the joke.
"Vast conspiracy theories"? What are you referring to? Are you suggesting that AQ and other America-haters are incapable of planning and executing terrorist acts involving more than one person?
Maybe you haven't been paying attention. Or maybe you're only paying attention to what supports your own little theories, Guv.
The jury's still out on this current case. Still too many unknowns to draw any conclusions.

A few quick points:
1) Tacoma isn't too far from Portland.
2) Serial killers rarely work in pairs.
3) His last name happens to be Muhammad.
4) AntiGuv signed up 2002-07-23.

A few quick responses:
1) Tacoma isn't too far from Portland.
Washington D.C. is about just as close to Scranton, PA; Youngstown, OH; Charleston, WV; Roanoke, VA; and Rocky Mount; NC as Tacoma, WA is to Portland, OR. Yet, I've never been to any of those places (well, I rode a bus through Charleston when I was 19..).
2) Serial killers rarely work in pairs.
Interesting myth which I've encountered previously on these boards. This isn't the movies, bud. Team killers are much less rare than people here seem to think:
All About Male Team Killers
3) His last name happens to be Muhammad.
There are a billion people in the world with a Muslim name who are not Al Qaeda terrorists. I have no affinity whatsoever for Islam, but a Muslim name is evidence of little more than a Muslim faith - in and of itself. That being said, I have relatively little doubt that his self-evident rejection of America factored into his conversion as much as his killing spree. However, I'm similarly confident that his killing spree would've taken whatever rationalization was available.
4) AntiGuv signed up 2002-07-23.
What's that supposed to mean: that I haven't been properly indoctrinated into the cult myths of the forum, or something? My actual interests are politics much more so than ideology and I came to FR because it's a good conservative resource for finding the latest election news. Rest assured that I'll have little motivation to hang out online after Nov. 5th. Otherwise, I almost never read the threads except when something catches my eye on the way to the Campaign 2002 forum. I happened to wander into a few of the sniper threads because the story was so gripping, and here I find all this fringe speculation amounting to little more than fantasy & innuendo. I should've restrained myself from any comment, but I slipped. Sorry. Doubt it could happen again as my time with FR will likely be up in a couple weeks. It's a great forum, but cyberchat just isn't really my thing. Perhaps we'll meet again in 2004.. :)

Ya know I think liberals don't have a sense of humor. They just too serious and filled with rightous (ha ha)indignation.
Its just a fun thing trying to figure things out before the real ending occurs. No big conspirecy theory or any thing that exotic. We don't have secret code rings and such.
You are mearly a liberal coming here for shissa und giggles.
Also liberals function on emotion and lack of logic.
You can always tell a liberal, but ya can't tell him much.
Also liberals always deny it when you call em on it.
To: kennyboy509
Whatever. I'm a Libertarian and my FR name says all there is to say regarding what I think of expansive government - whether it comes in liberal or conservative packaging.

Wow! Too coincidental. I don't believe in coincidences.
To: CharlotteVRWC
actually it spells Ladian, not Ladin, because if you use the first "a", then you must use the second "a".
