I almost fell for it, regarding Powell.

Me too, amigo, yo tambien. But remember that the St. Dept. is so chock full of career Arabists that it's inevitiable that the Sec. of St. - regardless of his/her own views - is (to a certain degree) going to be associated with some of their stench. Powell allowed this to happen early on, but he quick asserted his power and clamped down on the sonsofb/tches in the Dept. That place needs a housecleaning like nobody's business.

I have observed this lady on the television. She is the epitome of one word. Class .

Her very manner and speech delivery, whether one disagrees with her or the administration- exudes almost all that one would wish for in women of power. There is hope left after all.

As for Harry- (I am a very private person) Bellafonte. Enjoy what you are extremely good at. Politics NO.

I can't help but also think it's a typical case of left-wing, Democratic misogyny that has a strong history from the free-love days of the '60s through Linda Tripp, Monica Lewinsky & Kathleen Harris. Sad.

Has been looking for a spotlight.

Come to think of it you're right.

Suddenly this sorry hasbeen is all over the news. Too bad for him that his voice is shot or maybe he could revive his long sunken career.

BRAVO!!!!! Couldn't agree more. The trouble with Harry is that anyone bothers to pay the slightest attention to him.

On Brit Hume tonight they discussed this issue--Brit had Juan Williams do an interview--it seems that Juan has been similarly treated by the civil rights establishment for supporting Clarence Thomas and questioniing Louis Farrakhan's competency via his space ship notions--he was pretty much told that he could not represent the black liberal position on CNN if he strayed from the party line--it was so bad that when he was doing a book on Thurgood Marshall the NAACP would not let him access its archives because they feared that he was too independent...BTW never realized that Juan Williams had ever stuck his neck out for any conservatives...very enlightening

Isn't it weird that the black left in this country makes Clilnton an honorary member of the Black Hall of Fame even though he executed a brain damaged black man in Arkansas to get elected president but they want to shut Colin and Condi down for being smart and successful...the black left is riddled with poverty pimps and socialists IMHO.

I don't think Harry is as much of a flaming Paul Robeson commie as most of you think.

You don't? Check this. Harry Belafonte, A True Believer

Whoa! I'm thinking it's schtick - maybe Powell postured himself like that for real during the Gulf War, but is now under orders to be what the goons expect, for tactical reasons.

It doesn't make sense that he would be contradictory to the Bush Administration - oops- loose lips sink ships!

General Powell is no fool and is a team player. Keep in mind that the job of the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense are not the same. They take different roads to get where the President wants to go. Sometimes one road is better than the other.

So, you're with me in that Powell is in deep cover hiding in plain sight, sort of?

Heck no, I never agree with anyone from BROOKLYN! (In spite of this Texas accent I went to Jr. High in QUEENS! ;-)
