The AP is reporting on a story out of Pakistan about letter bombs containing C4 that were sent as a threat. Here's an exerpt from the article:

It threatened guerrilla operations would soon start against "anti-Islam police officers and other infidels." Other Muslims are planning a mass attack on the United States, it said.

They don't think it was a bomb in Cologne:

Five hurt as house blows up in Cologne

BERLIN, Oct 18 (Reuters) - Five people were seriously hurt on Friday when an explosion believed caused by gas ripped through a house in the centre of the western German city of Cologne, emergency services said.

A fire brigade spokesman said the building was on fire following the explosion shortly after 9 a.m. (0700 GMT).

Spokesman Stephan Neuhoff said a gas explosion was probably responsible.

"An apartment was being cleared out nearby and we are investigating to see if that was connected to this gas explosion," he told n-tv television.

German stocks initially fell and bonds rose on fears the explosion could have been caused by a bomb.
