Simon's use of the inaccurate charge may have been a misstep but it reinforced in the electorate's mind what they already think about Davis; corrupt, inept, and a venal liar. On election day will more Dems stay home than Reps? I think it'll be more Dems and that may help swing the door closed on the Davis debacle. One can only hope.

The image on the photo of Davis gleefully accepting more campaign cash is stuck in the minds of Californians. While we are out here struggling just to survive, he's drooling over a $10,000 check. And that's what he does best! I don't think the photo fiasco is going to hurt Bill Simon which is what the media was hoping for. GO, SIMON!!! For victory & freedom!!!

Ron, Ramirez has another excellent cartoon in the op/ed section of today's Left Angles Times.
Thanks!

Here it is!

Excellent! Ya gotta show me how to do that someday. While you are on the op-ed page be sure and read the endorsement of Davis by the LAT...They never publicize my letters but I am still gonna write a real blistering letter to the editor today. The editorial is ridiculous!

I have a friend who predicted that the State would be officially bankrupt sometime in October since early summer.

He feels that by Jan 1 2003, we will be about 30 40 Billion in debt.

He has said that the media will ignore or bury this important news until after the election or even next year as a "Guess what we found news, the State is bankrupt as of 2 Jan 2003 for about 35-40 billion $'s.

This cartoon is great. Does anyone have a server that we can store it on. A lot of cartoons have 24 hour life on the newspapers web site. Also, Davis's goons will try to remove this great cartoon from the web site.

So straighten me out here. I was informed this was not law??? Is the only thing left to do is for the Dimwit to sign this into law???

AB 2065 is already chaptered -- that is, Davis already signed it into law. It provides for 3+1/3% CA tax withholding on the total sale price (not just on the profit), except for certain exclusions such as a primary residence or a like-kind exchange. One maybe able to recover the money, less interest, when he files his income taxes the following year.

The next step, after the election when they must face the ballooning deficit (how come there have been no new deficit predictions publicized recently? Since stock prices dropped earlier this month, tax revenue should decline.) , is for the liberals to change the law to an actual, unrecoverable tax on all property sales....

Preserve property rights. Dump Davis!

From what I have read, it includes commercial property. The current law only requires non-California residents to have mandatory withholding (presumably because they would be harder to collect California taxes from); now, California residents will be subject to the same withholding on all property but their primary residence. This includes commercial property. There may be some minor exceptions, but this is a biggie.

I don't think (hope) this includes commercial property. With that income Sacramento will be awash in cash. Is any of this money set aside for Counties.

AB 2065 refers to real property, whether the seller is a person or a corporation, but the change is for transfers from individuals. If the corporation selling its property no longer has business in CA, it already is subject to the 3.3333% withheld according to the bill.

They haven't taken down the August 20th Ramirez cartoon of gray davis as a prostitute yet. It was RonDog's inspiration for his eGray Hooker costume, and he printed it out to show all the non-freepers at the Simon rally! RonDog posted it earlier (#30) on this thread, too. But, it's always a good idea to save it if you like it.

I wonder if those Davis cartoons still work from several months ago. You used to write several funny captions under each one, and I really liked them. Tom McClintock for Controller copied one to incorporate into his "Davis Inc. Favors-for-Friends Clock," and here's part of the picture:

By the way, Tom McClintock is leading!
