"The fact that a senator has broken his word sends a ripple effect into the way the U.S. Senate will function for years to come."
The lesson learned too late, here. . .is that no Lib/Left Demrat should be trusted - ever.
We know they would sell their Mother's, Grandmothers and their children if necessary, if it would advance their agenda. . .
Besides, we know for these 'folks' that words mean little; and giving your 'word' means even less.
The problem is the Repubs simply cannot believe what they see. . .or refuse to.

As much as I despised him, if this situation were reversed and LBJ were president, the home state of the liar would receive nothing in federal grants until he reverted to honesty. Bush is too nice.

What is scary is how their political tactics are like those of the Nazis, you know, their socialists brothers.

"Hill Republicans say Democrats are opposing Shedd to satisfy their special interest supporters. Over 100 letters have been sent to the committee in opposition to Shedds nomination on the grounds that he rules too often against plaintiffs in civil rights cases or is insensitive to racial concerns. Almost all of the letters are from Washington, D.C.-based special-interest groups such as the ones that helped Democrats torpedo the nominations of Charles Pickering and Priscilla Owen earlier this year. The national NAACP and the Congressional Black Caucus are among those opposing Shedd."Just shows to go ya, as they say.
All of this because of only about 100 letters. FR can BURY a Congresscritter in letters, emails, and phone calls.
I don't believe that such tactics work only on 'Rats.

"Right now, there are no hostages to take," he said. He added, "When we get back the majority, there will be consequences."The Democrats are playing a very dangerous game. One day they will be the minority party and Trent Lott will NOT be the majority leader.
Paybacks are going to be nasty.
They will deserve everything they get and more.

Leahy has been a liar for years, it shouldn't have surprised anyone that he'd lie again.
That said, Bush should use his recess apointment powers to appoint Shedd during the winter recess.
To: The Anti-Democrat
"I am hurt and disappointed by your action," said the frail senator in a committee meeting on October 8. "You have repeatedly stated that Judge Shedd would be given a vote today. I took you at your word. In my 48 years in the United States Senate, I have never been treated in such a manner." This ain't your daddy's Democratic Party anymore.

"The fact that a senator has broken his word sends a ripple effect into the way the U.S. Senate will function for years to come." Unfortunately, no, it will not.
Republicans get rolled by lying dems on an hourly basis. They refuse to believe their colleagues in the "loyal opposition" are truly evil, and continue trying to work with them.
If you make a deal with a dem, get your payment up front.

Remember Leahy was KICKED off the security committee because of his constant leaking possing a threat to National Security. (rush called him Leaky Leahy)

i happen to be reading 'mein kampf' right now, and legislative politics wasnt exactly Hitler's style..

Hillary to Leahy: "If you double-cross the old
geezer, he may get so upset he'll croak".

Rush also calls Leahy "Senator Depends" for the undergarment that absorbs leaks.
Now he can be called "Senator Leaky-Lying Leahy".

"This ain't your daddy's Democratic Party anymore."
No kidding! And it ain't your daddy's news media anymore either, or this would have been plastered everywhere for all to see... tsk, tsk.
To: longtermmemmory
I've heard there is support for Don Nichols to be the next leader.
