I can't buy that. If I personally don't offer to sell you a book it doesn't follow that I am censoring it. I may not even have an opinion on it. If I do offer to sell it to you, however, I certainly am promoting it.
Yeah, you're right - "censor" was probably the wrong word. "Select" would be more appropriate.
But my point still holds... either they "select", or they don't. If they "select", then they've thereby put themselves in a position of having to produce criteria.
Granted, rejecting what is obviously child pornography wouldn't put them in much of a controversial position. But what if they were to reject an abnormal psych text because it contained child pornography by way of example? Arguably, they'd then be restricting access to "legitimate" medical information. (yeah, I know, calling psychology "medicine" is a stretch, TBS). But from a business satandpoint, IMO, they'd be better off not "selecting" anything one way or the other - at least w/r/t what it would take to consistently defend the position they took.
