Your comment was the first thing I thought about as I read the article. It may be that there were 5 pages about Tubman and only one about Lincoln.

The US Constitution provided for slavery to exist! The South seceded over the right of a State to see to its own domestic internal affairs (which slavery was one). While I don't hold with slavery, what the North did was to kill any ideal of self determination for states, by forcibly keeping the Southern states in the Union.

So on one hand you're saying "I believe in States rights." But on the other hand your saying "Washington DC should make the rules governing our everyday lives." I think you totally missed the boat on why the South seceded in the first place.
