I totally relate to this woman's story from personal experience. My husband and I had two daughters, living comfortably in a middle-class, safe neighborhood, our girls went to parochial schools. We concentrated on our children and raising them. I had a reputation among our daughters friends for being extremely security conscious about our girls.
Beginning in about 1990 I began sensing a real foreboding that something horrible was about to happen. I couldn't place it on anyone in particular in the family. In addition, I developed a serious dislike of all things Christmas. In fact I entered therapy to try and overcome this seemingly irrational fear.
Meanwhile, our oldest daughter would occasionally have dreams that she shared with me that she had been shot. This was so far from anything that should normally concern us because of our very average lifestyle and our caution in all activities our daughters participated in.
In late December once again my daughter shared that she'd had that dream again and asked me what I thought it meant. I tried to assure her that it probably meant she just had a bit of a fear of that type of thing...(in addition her absolute favorite movie of all time was Goodfellas)and she seemed okay with that explanation.
Four days later, on December 21st, 1994 Beth was shot to death at her job by a disgruntled employee, along with a 21-year old male coworker. Her funeral was held on Christmas Eve.

And he rests, most appropriately, with others of the same sort. Thomas Burnett is buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. It's not quite Arlington National Cemetery, but it's close in spirit.

So many people had premonitions of a tragedy happening at some point 9/11ish that I think it was all meant to be. A higher power is scripting these events and it's up to us to figure out how to react to them.

May God help us and guide us.

Deena says that when she and other relatives listened to the flight's "black box" (the cockpit recorder), she could hear her husband barking directives as they indeed took the plane back.

I think many of us have a 6th sense....I knew about Sept. 11th on Sept. 9th. It was a Sunday night and I did not sleep one minute. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw screaming terrorists and exploding planes and buildings. The burden was so heavy on my heart I knew this was going to be a huge tragedy. It felt like someone was squeezing my heart...so much that it took my breathe away. At the time, I didn't know what it meant, but less than 48 hours later it all became too clear.

This was confirmed the next time he called from his cell phone. "They're talking about crashing this plane into the ground," said Thomas.

This one jumped out at me. That the passengers knew that they weren't going to try to land, but crash the plane.

Amazing how all of these spiritualists and psychics know EVERYTHING in hindsight, but actual predictions are not forthcoming.

Get over this nonsense- there is no "6th sense", there are no "psychics", no "visions", no tooth fairy, no Santa Claus.

When he came back to the Church, says Deena, her husband developed a devotion to the Rosary. "I've often thought about the prayers he must have said on that airplane, and I think that he was praying to the Virgin Mary," she says. "I think that his last prayer would have been a Hail Mary."

this in my mind is the root of all the ills in the catholic church - here this guy is and he's praying to Mary instead of Christ? so sad :(
