Let's not forget it is the Bush administration (more specifically his lower echelon leaders - but the buck stops with him) who is fighting against concurrent receipt.

We need to write Bush and tell him to stop this continuing travesty against our disabled vets.

Your right!

A letter, email, fax or call to the Whitehouse would help out tremendously.

I cried the day the doc's told me I could no longer serve my country.

You actually wasted time reading this dreck after an opening line like that? Don't you recognize fiction aimed at making you send a letter to some pol?

Sorry,

I don't believe it is fiction.

Yes, I do believe the writer.

Even if it was fiction the story remains the same. Retired Disabled Vets are getting the shaft from DOD.

"The story remains the same, Retired Disabled Vets are getting the shaft from DOD."

Regardless, that statement is true. Active Duty Career Military better not forget, sooner or later they will also be "retired".

Would you happen to remember which message board you got this off of? I am interested in reading just how ignorant someone can get. (IE Calling vets fat and lazy for wanting benefits which they are entitled to, but aren't receiving because of the greed of others!)

One day my boss called me in his office and told me he was concerned about my health.

I am not that familar with Marine jargon. Do Marines refer to bosses or to rank?

Concurrent Receipt would allow Retired/Disabled Vets to receive both their pensions (retirement pay) and disability pay from the VA.

Ret/DAV are the only federal employees so prohibited. Due to a 1890's law. see crlegislation.com for the complete story and background.

"I am not that familar with Marine jargon. Do Marines refer to bosses or to rank?"

Depends on the tone of the particular command. Sometimes the Commanding Officer is referred to with a particular endearing nickname, "The Old Man", The Boss, The CO, etc... The letter rings true except for all the admissions of crying. Marines don't cry.
