Well here's wishing everyone a Merry urs, and a happy reassembling under the Mistletoe. Bho...bho...bho said the jolly old elf.

Huge pandals were erected on the Grand Trunk Road in the town for the festivities.

Unless the huge pandal is fully erect, we just don't feel like the festivities have really begun in this house...

Slightly OT...

Did "someone set us up the bomb..." start before 9-11 or after?

Just curious if anyone remembers.

Hmmm. Interesting - I'm pretty sure it predates 9/11 by a fair margin, but I don't recall how long beforehand it was in circulation...

Doing some pop-culture linguistics work? ;)

Answer: Naubatkhanas, kanaka tappetalu, phakeer bands.

Question: In poverty-stricken India Santa has only three reindeer. What are their names?

No, I have a little hobby of trying to get straight in my mind exactly what was going on just before 9-11. I know it sounds odd.

My earliest "all your base" file is dated 2/24/2001. Gamers and hackers would have laughed about it well before then.

There were occasions when he practised "khanda yoga'' -- the body gets split into bits and pieces and gets assembled on its own.

"KHANDA YOGA: In this practice, Baba extracted the various limbs from his body, and left them separately at different places in the Masjid. Once, a gentleman went to the Masjid, and saw the limbs of Baba lying separately at separate places. He was much terrified; and he first thought of running to the village officers, and informing them of Baba being hacked to pieces and murdered. He thought that he would be held responsible, as he was the first informant, and knew something of the affair. So he kept silent. But next day when he went to the masjid, he was very much surprised to see Baba, hale and hearty and sound, as before. He thought, that what he had seen the previous day, was only a dream."

Damn it, Scotty, get us back all in one piece.

***dripping sarcasm*** No thanks, i still enjoy celebrating the miraculous rebirth of Nimrod as Tammuz by Semiramis after Nimrod was hacked into pieces by Uncle Shem for crimes against humanity.

***still dripping with sarcasm*** We read the "Night Before The Axe" to little Johnny every Baalsday Eve to help him understand true reality better. I am sure that their little Johnnies understand what is really real by their celebration too.

***rant*** i'm so fed up with "multi-cultural" "diversity" and the supposed equality of all cultures. There is something to be said for the superiority of western civ and Christianity in which it was incubated. If it wasnt for the Britts they would still be burning their women on the funeral pyre of the husband when he died.

***unrant*** the main change in my life since 9-11 is that i am no longer a gentleman when it comes to deluded fools (twice educated beyond their intellect) who seek to deconstruct us back to the dark ages.

Elaborate arrangements are being made for the 110th urs of Hazarath Kale Mastan Shavalia baba at Mastan dargah here.

In theory this article was written in the English language.

Still, the author does not manage to scale the lofty heights from which Lewis Carroll flung the words of Jabberwocky:

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe....

They're all nuts.

this one is my favorite:

Tenrikyo

When I was a kid, we had some Japanese friends that belonged to this religion. Lovely dear people and very clean living, but their theology is mind-bogglingly bizarre.

Good grief, is it Urs already again this year? How the time flies! The goats I sacrificed to Set are barely cool to the touch and already I'm shopping for lip rings and medicated body powder for the nekkid Moon Dance. A fellow can hardly keep up anymore. Has anyone seen my sandal paste?
