Can you believe this callous remark? Tomakaze's a libertarian. Standing by while a woman beats the hell out of a child is one of their ten commandments.

This entire thing is sickening. Absolutely sickening. And there are people whose main concern seems to be that this is a threat to their privacy? God help us.
To: Howlin
No, hon......didn't see it. I shouldn't. I'd want to hunt her down, THEN skin 'er.

"No, nobody deserves to be beaten."This woman does.

"someone should have intervened at the scene -- preferably an armed citizen who could have taken out the mother if necessary. This is a glaring example of why every one of us should carry all the time." Before I say anything that might be misunderstood, I think this woman should be found and charged. I am also a firm supporter of the second ammendment; however, if we did as you suggest, people being what they are, I could just see the shootouts in the Walmart parking lots. I don't think we want to go there. While I believe there is a time for citizens to take matters into their own hands, at least temporarily, I really don't think we need a bunch of vigilantes running around playing cop.

" I could just see the shootouts in the Walmart parking lots. I don't think we want to go there."Most States respect the right to carry. The scenarios you pose and fear have not occurred, nor are they likely to.

You just read my mind... Gypsies!
Article said mom tried to exchange something or get a credit? She probably stole whatever it was in the first place and was turned down by the store! She took it out on her baby...
(Thanks for the ping, CJ.)

No. the solution is for people to mind their own damned business.Hmmm... This wasn't discipline - so what you are saying is that you support the right of adults to severely beat children to the point of needing medical care...
Well, here's hoping you are sterile...

This makes me sick. Literally.
Unbelievable.

That said, I find it downright scary that this woman was taped in the parking lot. Was she parked right in front? Or are there cameras watching us everywhere? We have a Kohl's near us and I've never noticed cameras there, but across the street at the grocery store there are security cameras in the parking lot.
The cameras don't bother me at all. It isn't a state or gov't camera, but installed by the store to ensure their customer's safety. If it makes me uncomfortable I can go elsewhere.
