I wrote a short story several years ago that postulated this notion that the 'turn around' from expansion to contraction hqad been discovered and extraterrestrial intervention had kept the truth from coming out.
I submitted the story to a sci-fi magazine, but they turned it down because the notion of contraction was so alien to the 'science' underlying their brand of fiction. Go figure
