if there should be any "rage against the flag" it should be against the CREEPS who abuse the sacred flag of our HERO-MARTYRS.
the SCV has tried numerous times over the years to stop such abuse of our flag by creeps/racists/cretins/morons and other similar persons.
the FEDERAL courts have uniformly said we can NOT protect the CSA flag from abuse!

An article in The Washington Times on June 15, 2002 mentioned the many blacks who were an integral portion of the Southern Confederate Army.
The article mentions that there were also Hispanics fighting for the Confedracy. But the largest minority group were Jews.

wrong answer on the Jews. they were 4th largest.
there were at least 100,000 blacks, about 50,000 indians (my ancestor was one of them) & about 40,000 latinos (mostly Mexican or Cuban nationality)that served the CSA.
the vast majority of "non-white" CSA veterans were either in state military formations, in "privately raised" formations OR partisan rangers.

There's nothing sacred about that flag nor the American flag. They are both symbols, nothing more and nothing less. And I'm sure you'll excuse me for not engaging in "hero-worship."

Abuse of a flag from a country that only lasted for 4 years? It's 2002, and the CSA exists only in your mind. No offense, that's just the truth.
the FEDERAL courts have uniformly said we can NOT protect the CSA flag from abuse!
The federal courts have also said that Old Glory can't be protected from desecration. Freedom of speech cuts both ways.
I view both groups of people who are so passionate about a piece of cloth as though they are crazy. There are far greater things that this passion should be used towards.
If you view that flag as an integral part of your heritage, fine. But let's not get crazy. I thought only the Left got so hot-and-bothered by a symbol.

maybe we southrons are "crazy". i'll leave that to persons like you, who neither know us OR understand our cleaving to the SACRED flag of our ancestors to say.
you are welcome to hold ANY opinion. this after all is a "free country" and i refuse to argue with you about this.
to US southrons, who lost FAMILY MEMBERS (and particuliarly those of us who had INNOCENT civilans and/or POWs raped, robbed, assaulted, imprisoned & murdered in cold-blood, it is SACRED, as we have, in many cases, not even a grave to visit.

You don't know what you're talking about. BOTH of my parents are from St. Francis County, Arkansas, and I've spent untold time in the south.
And there you go again with the "sacred" word, which hinges on straight up blasphemy. There's nothing sacred about a flag! You got that?
you are welcome to hold ANY opinion. this after all is a "free country" and i refuse to argue with you about this.
Well, good! G'on! Leap, frog!

That's it. You're just as sick as those bastards in the NAACP who want to boycott the entire state of South Carolina over a damn flag.
Am I in the Twilight Zone?

Linda Stanley of the Franklin County Historical Society said the Confederate government required slaveowners to offer a certain percentage of their slaves to the war effort, possibly explaining the three Holland men's involvement in the war. According to federal pension records, Creed Holland worked as a teamster, hauling supplies for soldiers. Cornelius Holland worked under Jubal Early as a cook. Claiborne Holland performed breastwork, which involved erecting earthen walls from which soldiers protected themselves in battle.
I other words, they were still slaves doing what they were told.

We've been over this before, Ditto. Having trouble accepting a Confederate Heritage group would honor these brave men?

Having trouble accepting a Confederate Heritage group would honor these brave men? Seems like an apology to them would be more in order. Or maybe give their descendants the back pay that they never got as slaves.

You voluntarily jumped out of perfectly good airplanes?
I praise your courage emphatically.

I have done a lot of wild things in my life....not too much lately unless you count having a baby at 45 or a little fisticuff in my office 2 years ago....which I won decisively btw.....for a change LOL.
I always thought about doing skydiving just to test myself....I was a little worried about how the instructor would feel if I was taking Xanax to soothe my nerves and steel my juevos.

"Static-line" jumping is nothing. As long as you learn a proper PLF, you could do it simply by stepping out of the plane. The line does all the work for you (besides gravity, of course). But H.A.L.O. jumping...
THAT'S A RUSH!

Oh, I forgot something. On static-line, just remember that if your main doesn't open wide, you'd better use the reserve that's by your side.

Amen to that!....I think I'll stick to jumping out of bed. My two year old beaned me with a jar of cherries about a week ago while I was sound asleep in the wee AM. He had scarfed them from the fridge and wanted me to open them pronto. I came up and outta the bed about 4 foot off the ground.
Kids...they do the darndest things....just like airborne...LOL.

To the child I'd say, "Kid, I love your style." To the pop I'd say, "Spank him!"

SSHHHH!!!....I do spank him...more than I like. I hardly ever spanked my girls...harsh words were usually enough to bring them to tears. I spank this wee manchild more in one week than I did my two girls combined their entire lives. His mom swats him as well. He is one tough little pistol and I have another manchild due in 9 weeks.....pray for me...LOL.
