Muslim leaders kept a united front of pressure on Washington to avert a strike against Iraq, saying it could unleash fresh turmoil in the Islamic world by widening a gulf between Muslims and the West. I vote for turmoil and overthrowing the corrupt dictatorships in the Muslim world.

There is no way Cheney is going to make a speech like this one without having hard evidence to back it up. It's becoming clearer and clearer every day that the bombshell is going to be dropped soon.

I could care less what some french surrender monkey thinks.....
It isn't there families who wonder when and where the next terrorist attack takes place.
They should have to live less than 10 miles from a nuke plant ....and worry if something will happen all the while you have to live your life.
So all these naysayers can just stick it.....this is a struggle between US vs. THEM.....and we are going to see this thru!

Just the shell? Or the whole bomb? :)

"They should have to live less than 10 miles from a nuke plant ....and worry if something will happen all the while you have to live your life." France gets 80% of it's electrical needs from nuclear power plants.

I heard tonight on the BBC
(famous for its impartiality)
reference made to the 'warmongers'
in Bush's cabinet.

I see this as well. I predict that the knee-jerk lieberals out there in media/government land are going to have egg on their face.

Cheney is the point man
Cheney has been responsible for building the war plans as well as the "realign the middle east" CRUSADE against radical Islam.
Bush has done well, the "above the fray" act, fooling MOST us with the tongue in cheeks "Islam is peace."
It's Labor Day weekend.... moms and dads... do you know where your marine's are???
heh heh...
The presstitutes report,
"Cheney is building a foundation for war against Iraq"
Cheney sez... "We did that last month! "
By the time the press figures out we are already engaged in the conflict, the Iraq excursion may well be over...
I wonder if sadaamed is going to be done in by his own... three to the head... perhaps?
And the last klingon... is clearly you! Go with it...

Just heard CBS's Bill Plante say that Cheney's speach today was 'toned down' and left open the possibility that UN Inspectors could come back in.
The national media will be wearing black armbands when Baghdad falls.

brushing off a groundswell of unease among European allies Mix any metaphors you like, Reuters, you're still tres full of sh!t.
groundswell--1) broad deep ocean swell caused by a distant gale or earthquake 2) rapid spontaneous growth--see also peeing one's pantaloons
And, about that oxymoron: European allies
A fatal paradox akin to a time machine roadtrip to moon der Fuerher--the world would explode, and the heavens fall.
European >>>>>>>BOOM<<<<<<< allies
Preposterous.
worldwide skepticism
Fine. They can have the skepticism. We have the most freedom and the highest standard of living. Gotta go with us.
fresh round of critical remarks in many states, including close European ally France
Non, monsieur, eet eez not fresh, zees scepticisme --eet eez stale.
close European ally France
hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
très drôle!
la mère de tous les oxymorons!
We await Chirac and his foreign minister Dominique de Villepin speaking out against the burning of the Israeli Embassy in Paris. . . .
[crickets]
. . .and denouncing Saddam Hussein in the strongest terms. . . .
[plus de crickets]
To: blam
.."simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction," Cheney said...Actually, Mr Vice-President, there is doubt, even within the Pentagon, on that.
Now, you have an incredible array of intelligence-gathering resources at your fingertips. Please collate the evidence, call a press conference, and present it to the world (or US allies, at least) so we can get on board the Iraqi Express without simultaneously giving our domestic Left a knife, and then turning our backs toward them.

Byron, Iraq has over 200 CB tipped Scud missiles ready to rip as we speak. When my kids were young and didn't want to be confronted with truth they pulled the covers over their head and curled up into a small ball.
I'll wake you when its over.

You will get the evidence whie we are going in. It does not make sense to present the evidence too soon, allowing Husein to target those who oppose him and launch missiles.

There is a talk show on radio early in the morning, 5 AM or so that I don't know the name of but sometimes I hear pieces of as I drift in and out waiting for the get-up alarm at 6. Today, though, the host was reading some kind of biography of Saddam's two sons. It was heavy stuff, horror and disgust.
Seems like there is more and more material coming out on Saddam all the time, and it gets worse every day. I don't know if it is deliberate to build the sense of revulsion like this, but if the moderates in Europe and America are paying attention, they have to be revising their opinions. Saddam must go, if legal grounds are not enough, then for aesthetics.

"Good... everything is proceeding as planned....Baghdad will soon be under my control...It is quite safe from Saddam's pitiful little band,An Entire Legion of My Best Expeditionary Force awaits them......"
