"The Celts came from Hungary." There are a whole bunch of 4,000 year old Celtic mummies (Cherchen man, Beauty of Loulan) in the desert (Tarim Basin) of east central China.

The largest single cluster of ancient Celts are found in Austria, Switzerland, and southern Germany. See the major museums there. (Or click on my Profile for more details.)

They want the artifacts back so they'll end up in the sand again. Finders keepers, I say.

One by one, they will strip away every vestige of the "British Empire" until all that remains is a few, pathetic, cowed people. The Brits need to stand up to this and tell everyone to back off. Hmmmm... Seems to me if it weren't for the 'Celts' there would be no British Empire: If it weren't for the Scots Regiments and the Irish footsoldiers, the English would have never owned anything more than a small island.
By their demand of the return of their heritage, the aboriginal Britons, the Celts, are showing they are not cowed.
Send the artifacts home. The remnants of the Celts will value and protect them more than the 'multicultural' English will.
The Celts and Saxons always were the backbone of Britain--too bad about that Norman Frenchy influence...

You're all wrong! The Celts are from Boston I went to some of their games.

"Do you have any more stuff on Phoenecians connection to Celts?" 'Phoenician' is Greek for 'red-headed.' The Carthage residents were noted for having red-hair and the incident of red-hair among the Libyians(sp) today is about the same as for the Irish.

When I first saw this headline, the first thing I thought of was Red Auerbach demanding the return to the team of Larry Bird and Kevin McHale.

Always thought I was Phoenician, even before I started reading this cool stuff except then I read that the red hair gene (rampant but recessive in my family) was due to descent from Neandertals. What's with that?

It may be that the true British have moved on, just as they have many times in the past. Before they were in Troy, they were lodged in Afghanistan, after Troy they were Rome. After Rome they were British, and after Britain they were American. You would know they were there because, about the time they leave, the town or country starts doing very well, then it collapses. They have left Britain, they are leaving America. Got to wonder where they will set up shop next.
