I only saw it at a glance while I was getting ready for work. But I think if they do capture it over the full time of recovery and rebuilding that it will be fascinating.

It's a small world. I worked with my friend Tom Lappin (Dir. of Photography) on Whit's (Whitaker) student film before he graduated.

Thank you, Summer! I did not see the MSNBC segment, but will watch this weekend for a repeat. I have the Project Rebirth site bookmarked!
The concept sounds breathtaking! I'm imagining photography depicting growth/rebirth of the site much as time-lapse photography shows growth from a seedling to a plant.
Sounds accompanying the "rebirth" are also a necessity and I'm glad they're being included. I went to Ground Zero in late October/early November and sound (and sometimes lack of it) was very much a part of the experience.
This film seems to be intended as a documentary fit for a time capsule to describe who and what we are. Marvelous idea and I want to see the finished product!

Thanks for your post, windchime. I too am excited about this project for the same reasons. :)

Making a documentary like this, about this tragedy, is, I think very important in terms of recording history, among other reasons. You're right. I also think it's important for the public to see a documentary on a big screen (movie theater) showing the whole catastrophe and clean-up process from Sept. 11 on. You saw nothing much on tv, and when we went to Ground Zero, the fence hid everything.

Sorry I didn't see the 'flip-book' but I'm sure they'll play it again
Regarding the artists conception in post #14, IMHO, that is really ridiculous. No one can deny that 9-11 would've turned out much different had the pilots been armed--hell the rag heads probably wouldn't have even tried it, well guess what? The pilots WILL soon be armed so there's not much chance of this kind of thing ever happening again. Therefore, build
bigger and
bigger and
BIGGER STILL!
Reclaim the title! Build far beyond those stupid looking haystacks in Kuala Lampur. Show 'em what a REAL skyscraper looks like!
Just my opinion.
