And people wonder why I hate cops....
To: niki
With a little luck the cops will get sued to the point they are all walking beats because they can't afford cars.
Then they can engage in foot chases on racers.
They civil courts need to slap the donut eaters down hard.

Here in Loudoun County VA two years ago the police raided the county fair and seized the Granny Ladys' pies 'cause they had not been baked in Health Dept. approved kitchens. Hence the "pie police' This is to go along wth the drug police, the alcohol police, the dirty pictures police, the music sharing police,et al. and points to a global criminalization of just about any aspect of life that the blue-stocking radical right doesn't approve of. Phooey!!

I wish the police civil rights abuse cases I filed had been as easy as this one.

Houston police Capt. Mark Aguirre is going to be busted off the force according to some Harris County Sheriffs.
They said this guy has been a pain in the rump for years, and his tyranical behavior finally got the best of him.
This is police state public mistreatment at its best. The people of Houston are outraged, and heads will roll down at the police station. Its expected that the mayor, NO GOOD FOR NUTHIN DOWN TOWN LEE P. BROWN will start a propaganda campaign against Houston police Capt. Mark Aguirre so that the political heat will be deflected away from City Hall.
Yet, the Mayors office is where the ultimate authority remains, and if the police rip up the Constitution, the mayor has to take the heat.

There is abuse of power.
There is stupidity.
This qualifies as both.
What really rubs me the wrong way - there were alot of officers there that night. Were they "just following orders?" Did any of them speak up? Something doesn't seem right.
"May I see your papers please?" will be the next question to come out of some black suited jack booted thug at the local hot dog restaurant.

The problem is that if the people don't respond in a very powerful way, what will all the onlookers think who wear a blue suit?
To: PokeyJoe
Absolutely. We are but sheep, most of us that is. If the police / government official says "JUMP BOY!", most of us will respond "HOW HIGH, SIR?".
Makes me sick. Our founding fathers would freak over crap like this.

KPRC 950 AM has a afternoon talk show host who is loudly advocating suits being filed against the city of Houston for violations of Civil Rights by the Houston Police officers involved.
Did you read that a mom was passing through the Coney Island drive thru when the police took her out of her car, impounded her baby with some agency, and placed her in jail for hours while cuffed?
All she did was stop in for some food at the Coney Island, and when she explained that to the police, they arrested her and took her child away from her, anyway.
Horrible, Evil, and Dangerous activities by out of countrol officials. All policemen involved in the actual arrest should be removed from the force. No questoins asked.

OK guys...it's late, I'm tired and so it's up to one of you
to find a link....but I remember back in the 80's when an
investigative reporter for Channel 13 (in Houston) exposed
vice squad officers who went into a topless bar and spent $3,000 in one evening on 4 dancers....and then.....busted them for public lewdness. The reporter (tipped off by someone in the City Auditors Office) had copies of the
AMERICAN EXPRESS CHARGES made by these officers!
$3,000 of taxpayer money....to bust topless dancers?
I live in Houston and am very pro-police.....but sometimes, this stuff gets ridiculous!!!!

Houston police Capt. Mark Aguirre is going to be busted off the force according to some Harris County Sheriffs. I'm glad to hear that but I think he needs to go to jail. Also, all his arrest cases need to be reviewed.
