As Federal law stands now, it is biased towards insurance companies’ use of credit
scoring for rate governing, respecting a form of religion.

This idiocy is so glaring, anything of merit
that might be in the screed has already
run for the hills.

My problem with insurance is that they are allowed to discriminate based on sex. When i was an 18 year old guy with no accidents or tickets, I paid more than double what an 18 year old girl with multiple accidents and tickets. If they were charging more based on race, there would be hell to pay.

Forced requiremnt of insurance is stupid. They should craft the rules so where people who wish to have insurance only deal within themselves. If I decide I don't want insurance it shouldn't matter what happens but if the other person has a million dollars in insurance I can't touch it. Basically a "Play and pay" system.

This line actually made me go "woof!":

Religion is defined as “conscience and belief” which has no place in government

Try State Farm. I had a State Farm policy that I had to let lapse due to unemployment. When I went to reenstate the policy I was told that I could not get the good rate due to a loss of credit from allowing the policy to lapse. So instead of $450 every six months, I must pay $900 every six months.

The mere fact that they are charging so much for the insurance is ridiculous. I have not gotten a ticket, been in an accident, or required an auto insurance payout for 25 years. My youngest daughter has a car that cost around $1000 total, and must pay $950 every six months for insurance.

Florida has a big problem with uninsured motorists and these rates show why. They charge so much that sometimes you must choose between insurance and rent, food, or electric. And if you have to stop paying and your insurance lapses, they double the rates. Not based on driving record, but entirely based on your ability to pay.

The state requires that we have auto insurance, but does nothing to insure that the insurance companies are not screwing us with rates that amount to usury. We have an Insurance Commisioner for what? He sure as hell isn't looking after our pocketbooks. But the insurance companies are making billions.

Thank you for joining the fight against these insurance companies. Many in Florida face this challenge because Florida legislators refuse to look at the facts. Maybe due to the big pocketbooks ;)

My brain hurts. / Eat more red meat.

Sound advice, I'm sure, along with "don't drink quite so much." My brain-ache, however, is from reading statements like:

No form of government can respect any form of religion; it must be non-biased. As Federal law stands now, it is biased towards insurance companies’ use of credit scoring for rate governing, respecting a form of religion.

We need a moment of prayer, or other positive thought, for the Establishment clause of the First Amendment. It has been stretched further than a sixth-grader's bubblegum this evening.

Why such comment? Look at the constitution for your state.
Look at the study that was done. Match the results the fact that the Federal Gov't says it's ok.

Automobile insurance becomes an oppressive taxation when the State orders the compelled benefit onto the People.

You think florida is bad...try massachusetts, it's confiscatory, with a state police that enthusiastically enforces every minor violation. Of the insurance companies, By the insurance companies, For the insurance companies.
