Yes, it is about white liberal guilt that we in the United States have had a lot more experience with than you-all down-under. It is amazing how well this same ploy works around the world in almost all western countries. Those that are easily made to feel guilty are willing to look at any situation and side with the "vicitms" of white racism.

It is taught in almost all schools now-a-days that the white male is the father of all evil. If you don't believe it then read a history book. Wars throughout history all started and run by white males, right? (Yea, I know there are lots of exceptions but this is what they teach the young pliable minds in schools and sadly it is difficult for me to un-brainwash my own kids.) Feel guilty - if you're white -- you're part of this evil and have sympathy for the non whites who are all victims.

I know this sounds nice but in actual operation the tolerance only flows from your end to the immigrant they don’t have to tolerate you. In California we have passed "hate crime" laws and the idea is to make race motivated crimes carry a higher sentence penalty. In practice there are almost never any crimes against whites labeled hate crimes BUT you guessed it when whites commit a crime against a minority the police investigate very hard to prove a racial motive. The sentance could be doubled if convicted.

I know you in Australia have the "fair dinkum" mentality but it may be killing you. The question is how far do you in your country go to accommodate a new immigrant and mostly we're going way too far.

This is so horrible. I had read of the Muslim gang rapes before. That is horrible enough...but that victims were NOT ALLOWED to mention ethnics in the victim impact segment of the trial...?????????????????

Well it was only a few British, not all, that scarred this nation forever in regard to aboriginals. It was only a few men of cloth, not all, that have lessened respect for the catholic church in relation to peodophilia. It was only a few germans, not all, who condemned jews forever.

It only takes a few...a few who commit the worst hate crime in Australian history and a few who cause the worst terror in America's history.

Only takes a few to cause so much pain and suffering. The difference lies in when the members of their same group hide behind them or stop them, hold them accountable. I can't see too much stopping. If 1.2 billion muslims can't stop what is happening then they don't want it to stop.

Yes white guilt is being thrown about with reckless abandon. I think it is backfiring to a degree because in Sydney anyways the majority of the population is not so white so falls on deaf ears. The state premier in a moment of rationality declared a problem with integration of young muslim males into society and called for a seminar with community leaders to formulate a plan to try and address the problems. To me... smart, fair and and trying to overcome the problems of these kids. He was branded racist for suggesting there was a problem though. Stuck to his guns though and is actively working with the muslim community to try and overcome problems of cultural conflict. Hope he gets results. These kids are brought up in a western world with parents telling them to ignore it. Must be a trauma for them.

In Australia we have a long history of Lebanese immigration. Primarily christian would be my guess but can't quote any figures.

Before recent time Lebanese immigration has been a spectacular success in Australia. They have been very valued members of our community. They still are. One actually ended up heading the US company Ford Motors. Yet another member of of the Lebanese community is the governor of the State of NSW. A woman no less!

Not many could blame the Lebanese community, the problem we have is with "muslims" not Lebanese in general. To suggest otherwise would to have head firmly buried in sand.

I am not tagging a label here, just stating the facts as they appear.

On the other hand we have muslims from other nations and no where near the problem we have with muslims from Lebanon. I have no idea why that is. Perhaps the war in Lebanon has planted seeds of hate in these people. I don't know.

In the town I live in the largest group is Afghans and most of them came here in the 80's when the Soviets were fighting the Mujihidan. The parents were great and happy to be here but the young men formed gangs and fought with the other gangs in the area.

As time has gone on they have integrated into the community and their gang has died out due to a lack of new recruits. Since they are now integrated into society it was only a problem for about 10 years. We are seeing other groups that don’t seem to integrate that fast or at all. Also, since the Afghans came as true refugees from war and Russian oppression they were better at talking about the benefits of America and tried to “fit-in”. Other groups come here expect a free ride and basically put down our country and make no attempt to assimilate and turn the kids to American haters.
