um, I dont think so. Ok, if America says that it is sorry for buying slaves, will Africa say that they are sorry for selling them?
Blacks act as if they were the only ones throughout history to ever be enslaved. If the world were to make ammends for slavery everybody would owe everyone. Hate to say it but they have done nothing but play this sorry song and dance racial card to the point where I think its going to start making more trouble for them and make other resent them. OOOOOhhh...look there they are again wanting another free ride. Its not like they dont get more benefits for being black than anyone gets for anything else. I think they should then pay reparations to the American Indians for helping to destroy their culture...have they forgotten about the buffalo riders?
Hey, good point. Whenever the Wild West or rodeo cowboys are discussed, Louie and his ilk always complain that we do not sufficiently "honor" the contributions of the Buffalo Soldiers.
So why don't they deserve the blame for what happened to the Indians too?
As for money (not including the cost of all the crap above)the US probably paid trillions in the forms of welfare, school funds, food stamps, housing, lawsuits, etc. Then of course, we give them more oppurtunity than any other country
Blacks already got their reparations, and more. As for this white/hispanic/black/indian/indian/indian/?(greatgreat grandma was found on a doorstep), I will work for what money I need.
Which most closely represents your view on reparations for black Americans?
- Reparations justified. Keep programs to combat lingering racism
- I agree with reparations but then no more preferential treatment
- Reparations not justified but continue programs to help blacks
- Reparations not justified and time to end 30 years of preferential treatment
There will be no payments to individuals. If it happens, the money will go into a "community development" fund.
